About the Project

I've been looking at Fogou for a while and when this kickstarter popped up in the news feed I couldn't resist. The set looks really versatile for use in a range of historical, fantasy and even sci-fi settings.

The stone has been given a light dabbing of white added in patches and to the edges and tops. The wood got the same treatment with soft latte (another tester pot). then as I was working outside in the UK rain stopped play!

Washing done and time to move on to the basic paint. The parts were all given a base coat of black with a rattle can. The stone was then given a sponge of grey. The sponge is dabbed on the board to remove excess paint so when sponged on the black remains in the detail.  I have used a wall paint tester pot of slate grey, cheap from the DIY store, and sponged it on with sponge from a blister pack.

The wooden parts were had the same treatment with some burnt umber.

The kickstarter box has arrived. The fact that this was a simple pre-planned kickstarter without interference by stretch goals has meant that delivery has been really quick.

I plan to make these pretty generic so that I can use these for Bolt action, Saga and Burrows & Badgers. Most of the work will be done with sponging and dry brushing and will probably end up basing them on some typical green grass style bases.

I have unboxed all the resin. It arrived in great condition in the colour shown, I could just throw down the walls on the board without any paint, but that wouldn’t be much of a project. Off for a wash and scrub as I always wash everything!
