About the Project

Having had the rules for frostgrave for a while I figured it was time to get the terrain and minis together for a game. I have a bunch of 3d printed items which I'm hoping to get completed as well as some more items I'd like to get put together.

Got some height added to the board as it was looking too flat. With this and some higher buildings I think it will look more visually pleasing. Printed using hexenguard’s riser system.

Whilst the exterior of Felstad is well underway, I read some of the solo scenarios in perilous Dark and saw they were set in old buildings. Whilst doing total ruins would have been fine, I wanted to build a proper broken down interior board. I used the tiles from MakingTlon and did some digital kitbashing with a few of their sets to make the busted walls. I’m getting there with the tiles, some more corners and internal walls and I think I have a 2.5×2.5(ish) board, a lot of painting for this though!

Another building added to the city. Now I have the painting steps in its getting easier to paint these. Two more buildings have been printed though and ready for priming!

Been a while since I last updated. Big progress on the tiles and bridges getting them done which really helps set the scene into a city. I’ve got some more buildings in progress and a whole building internal setup for some of the solo scenarios. I can see this project going on for a while but I’m really happy with how its looking right now.

Really happy with how this is coming together as a board. Also bonus shots of the band so far. Loads more I want to add but its motivating to see the work so far looking good.

Market stalls and fencesMarket stalls and fences

A few weeks went by without any progress but this weekend I managed to get back to it. Completed some more items from Hexengarde to ensure the board is very terrain dense. I really want this to have a realistic feel to it with very little ‘board’ visible. I think this works for skirmish games and seeing the types of boards for mordheim is inspiring this. More elements are being produced on the 3d printer including risers and another big building. Will also set the terrain out today and see how its all looking together now I think I have a fair amount.

A week later and I have all the buildings done!A week later and I have all the buildings done!

Very pleased with the progress on here and is definitely looking like I will have time to add in some more terrain for this 3 month project (though I have a warband to paint up as well so I can play the game 🙂 ). Really happy with how its all turned out with a good ratio of effort/time and results. Its basically an upgraded slapchop and I have a step by step ill put up here later.
