Hello there!

I now get in the fun part of the project. Like I said before I don’t like painting many of the same mini or color scheme.

In Op Sandtrap there are only 6 of the same type of troops. 3 Fusilier and 3 Senku. Those are done so I only have individual minis left to paint.

First one is the KFC Scarecrow. Here is the progress so far.

Enjoy!

Hello there!

Sorry but I didn’t record much of the work in progress for these. I was in the zone and almost painted them all in one shot.

Still here is the finished product and the paints used.

Cheers!

Hello there!

Since the quickstart rules for N5 only use three troopers on each side. I decided to start painting the 3 light infantry troopers in the Op Sandtrap box first.

I also think that they are the most tiresome to paint. I don’t like painting many copies of the same stuff. Eventhough each Fennec has a different sculpt, they still use the same color scheme.

Which I don’t like very much. Bright blues and vivid yellow accents in the desert setting of Shinju? Not so sure. I’ll try to rationalize this with 23rd century multi-spectral visors rendering normal color based camouflage useless.

As for painting them per se. It was pretty straightforward. A nice basecoat of blues using my airbrush and then finishing the details. Of which there is a surprising amount. This is the part that took the most time and I’m not sure that it adds much to the finished minis.

I’ll let you be the judge.

Cheers!

Hello there!

So I got myself a copy of Operation Sandtrap. I plan on running a couple of demo games in my area. As I’m writing this the rules for N5 are not yet available but there is a quickstart pdf available. However, the quickstart isn’t using the minis from Sandtrap… Color me puzzled but the Infinity community was there to help and I was able to grab nice datacards of all the minis in Sandtrap.

So print all this stuff, paint the minis and I’m off to the races.

Cheers.

Hello there!

I also started a third entry with Victor Messer an infiltrator agent for the Combined Army. I don’t think that I will have time to finish him for the deadline. It doesn’t matter as I already have the ones below.

Cheers.

Hello there!

So I finished painting up my Tafang for TAG Raid Deathmatch and it has been submitted to the Infinity painting contest.

My girlfriend and I also tried to take better photos. I think we achieved our goal but we’ll need a better suited lens for her DSLR.

In the meantime enjoy!

Tafang for Tag Raid

Hello there!

While I have yet to play a game of Infinity Tag Raid, I nonetheless decided to paint one of the TAGs that were specifically designed for it.

This is the Tafang, a work TAG, or mech since it is not especially designed for combat but rather mining work. Anyways, it is the TAG available to the YuJing backed faction in the game.

It will be part of my entry to the Infinity Painting Contest.

The painting process was pretty straightforward.

I started with a zenithal prime. Then added a good coat of VMC Cavalry Brown. I then slowly highlighted this red brown with yellower paint tones everytime.

For the non-metallic metal. I first put a basecoat of a very light grey and then a coat of Citadel Contrast Black Legion. This created a nice gradient all by itself. I then simply highlighted the brightest spots with ever increasing bluer and brighter grays. The trick is to keep the contrast at 11. I find this method really easy to do and the result is really convincing. It might not work on very flat surfaces and I had a lot of trouble with the two cylinders on the Tafang’s chest.

So that’s where I am right now. I’ll post more pictures of the finished model once it’s done.

Cheers!

Hello there,

So Corvus Belli decided to open a painting contest. I was already motivated because in the last 2 years the Infinity bug bit really deep. To the point that I’m thinking on selling all my pile of potential and just keeping Infinity related stuff.

And now CB drops this contest on me. Let’s just say that there won’t be anything else getting painted until the contest deadline.

So here is my first entry to this contest. A Lasiq from the Haqqislam faction. I’ve been working on and off on her for the last couple of weeks. But now I’ll finish her ASAP so that I have time to work on the next three entries.

Here she is.

Cheers!
