About the Project

My PLOG to create early WWII forces in 15mm. Initially I'm focusing on single infantry platoons with some support options. These are primarily to play Chain of Command but also to build on for larger Battlegroup games. Further project to follow for WWII in 15mm, namely North Africa and late war Europe. P.S my first OTT project (after much procrastination!). Lets hope it keep it up, and it helps me moving forward with my projects.

German forces are gathering ready to strike through the Low Lands.  For my early war Germans I’m using figures from a Plastic Soldier Company company box.  Again I’ve based the models individually, textured the bases, primed and roughly basecoated.

From here I begin the process of painting the individual elements on each figure.  I try to paint from the inside out, and darker colours before lighter colours…but I’m no painting expert.

Next up…more progress on the German infantry, before I start work on their support elements.

So I’m starting this project with a practically completed infantry platoon.  Sorry, but if I didn’t start a PLOG now I never would!

Below you can see my early war British infantry from Forged in Battle.  Some lovely little models, expect some very slight (and annoying) flash over the top of the helmets.  I used the Farnworth painting guide and Osprey reference material to select colours.  I’ve intentionally flocked the bases a range of colours to reflect sections advancing on a broad front over different ground.

I’m generally pleased with the results, but these men need more support to take on the Bosche!  I’ve prepared some bases for artillery and anti-tank guns, and machine guns, which I hope I can use across WWII in North Europe.  I’ve kept the artillery and anti-tank guns off the bases so I can swap different weapons around the bases intend for early or late war.
