UK Games Expo 2023: Live Blog

Justin has discovered some brilliant magnetic, double-sided, flat pack D&D terrain which can have any DM knocking a scenario for gamers in no time and when the time has come to pack up the terrain can be quickly disassembles and placed back in its storage box which is disguised as a book.

If you ever ventures into a branch of Waterstones you will likely seen a small selection of board games but not they are expanding the range of games they are selling which includes flagship stores!

Creative Quest have a wide range of beautiful, handmade RPG accessories at this year’s Expo including flight stands recently picked up by none other than Dimension 20 so hopefully you’ll see them on screen soon.

Hegemonic Project Games talk to us about Hegemony: Lead Your Class to Victory, a politico-economic card driven board game where you take control of one of four socio-economic groups – the working class, middle class, capitalist class or the state itself.

The sun has come out for the weekend and commodorerob has gotten the chance to take a dander around the Living History Village. There have been less Geese wandering about than previous years, did the Vikings get peckish?

Farplace Animal Rescue have created their own board game to help raise funds for their charity. The game is set collection combined with a race element, with each player moving and playing differently depending on their animal of choice.

Justin always has to stop off with some of his favourites around UK Games Expo and Uncertain Scenery is definitely one of them! Their terrain is absolutely stunning with so many moving parts you must come and check them out.

As you may have seen in earlier posts each day UK Games Expo are giving visitors the chance to win a £1000 shopping spree each day of the show. Sunday’s winner has been chosen and is currently deciding how to spend the money before the doors close on this year’s Expo.

Meanwhile as you can see Saturday’s winner has picked up a whole table’s worth of games, hope they brought a car!

DR Games have games on their stand for all tastes whether you wish to dungeon crawl or manage resources. They also have post-apocalyptic survival in the form of Rad Zone Totality including the Exhibition Centre Expansion…. wait a minute!?!

Justin has a chat with Never Yellow Games about their first ever game on Kickstarter, Meteor heroes. Set in Justice City you and your friends compete to be the most famous hero at the end of the game but that doesn’t mean you always have to be a good hero.

If you are at all interested in Vietnam era wargaming then you absolutely have to come down and check out Rubicon Models who are demoing their newest ruleset Oscar Mike Vietnam!

The Colour Forge have a magnificent range of fantastic spray paints that all colour match with your favourite brands!

Camden games have brought a plethora of games for people to try out while they’re here at UK Games Expo. They have even brought their newest game Asteroid Dice with them for people to demo so make sure to come down and give it a go!

TTCombat are here at UK Games Expo and they have come with a big stand full of new miniatures to check out. They have brought new Dropzone Commander and new Dropfleet Commander models to show off.

Sons Of Skaro are a Doctor Who cosplaying group that are clearly very passionate about the universe and the cosplays they build. Justin has a chat to two of the Sons Of Skaro about their incredible Dalek cosplays which look just fantastic.

Justin has a chat with Battlefront/Gale Force 9 about the newest upcoming releases from them and what they have brought to the show. A few secrets are going on in the background at Battlefront for Team Yankee and World Of Tanks which can’t be shared with us but keep an eye out as they’ll undoubtedly be interesting.

Para Bellum’s talented team are currently demoing Conquest in multiple languages in Hall 1 while a tournament is also being run for the game in Hall 3. A word of warning however, visitors to the stand may encounter a few Angry Chickens (prefer mine fried to be honest)!

Justin is at the Warlord stand where not only does he find out about their latest releases but also catches up with Tommie Soule whose work can be seen in volume 5 of Dave Taylor’s “The Art Of” book series.

Cubicle 7 paid us a visit at the Main Stage yesterday so Justin returned to favour to see how their Expo has been going (I think he used it as an excuse to stay “in character”). If you’re looking to pick up some Warhammer RPGs in either flavour (Sci-Fi or Fantasy) make your way down to Cubicle 7 Avenue in Hall 1.

If you seen the Dragon Off between Ralph Horsely and Andree Schneider yesterday on stream and are attending the Expo today you have a chance to own one of the drawings as they have been kindly donated to the National Kidney Federation next to us at stand 2-774.

Andree’s work can be won via a raffle at £5 per ticket while Ralph’s is a silent auction. The raffle draw and auction kick off this afternoon at 2:45pm.

The Viking village is back at UK Games Expo and it’s bigger than ever! With over 40 tents outside of the show they have taken up all of the ground they can get and it is a magnificent sight. Of course it wouldn’t be UKGE without some sort of game so the Vikings show us some traditional Viking board games.
