The Flood Gates Are Open On Painting Competition Entries
The rush is on, to get entries out of their carry cases and boxes, quick fixes and touch ups done before entering them into their categories.
And if all of the changes were not enough, they have also reintroducing third place awards this year, as sometimes the cut between finalist and second place is a painful judging decision and we have listened to our previous years feedback to amend this.
Judging criteria has also been reviewed and refined (and published), as always the team of 8 judges maintain an objective decision making process, and oversee the very subjective nature of an art competition across various scales and styles.
Entries Close For The Painting Competition
Just a quick update before judging starts!
Awsome Ork gang and Harlequinn...
Judges Judge....
This year has been a step change on the last two, more finalists pulled out than ever, and judging is taking forever, looking for the smallest of differences in each entry to decide which deserve the ultimate accolade.
Here is a quick shot of all the category finalists, with a couple of closer looks. More to come from the winners soon...

Guess the hangovers ain’t to bad if you got posts up this early 😉
How did @lancorz find flying lol?
All good, didn’t like it banking side to side… or the two attempts at landing.
Lol
Just imagine you’re in a rollercoaster 😉
Besides …
any landing you can walk away from is a good one 😀
Better two attempts than one complete and utter failure.
Okay… let the coverag beginn ^^
Salute 2018 in Rotterdam please :p
Utrecht would be much better … but failing that Eindhoven isn’t bad either. 😉
Utrecht would indeed be better
On my way now 🙂
Have fun guys. Wish I was there.
So I’m placing this comment with false hope that for first time in life I’ll actually win something in a lottery. Feel free to prove me that aint gonna happend.
Wish I was there but had to choose between Salute and UKGE.
Love that Frostgrave table. Looking forward to the coverage. Always so much to see so I’ll be interested to see what cool stuff you find that we haven’t seen before.
Have fun guys
I sadly can’t make it, but I wish you loads of fun and I’m looking forward to all your great pictures and videos.
Wish I could make it this year; the stars haven’t aligned correctly for a few years now, but I will be back at some point as it is a blast! Have a great day everyone!
Sweet, have a great day guys!
That’s Lloyd talk for ‘take more pictures now Dave!’
Thanks for the coverage!
What a super weekend is lined up. One day I shall attend!
One day I’ll take a trip down to Salute. It’ll happen…
Waiting for my nephew(8) to take him to his very first experience of salute after getting interested in warhammer a couple of months ago
Is this a bit like the British version of Adepticon?
Kinda of but much different. Think of the vendor area at Adepticon but 10 times bigger. Throw in full size demo tables in between in the aisles. That is Salute, no tournaments or big games. Mostly sales. It is an amazing experience and we really enjoy it. We are really sad we are not this year. It is worth the trip from the States. The Backstage meet up is always a great time. I highly recommend it to anyone.
I hope i wish be there with you next year
Wish I was going today 🙁
Wish I was going – would like someone to go to black scorpion to see if they have any more info about the tombstone kickstarter
Wish I was going, probably could have if I hadn’t spent so much ‘socialising’ this month.
Damn, ain’t been to salute in 5 years, wish I was there
Wish you were too dude
At salute, Justin I’m coming for my hug. Warren, missing you mate :p
Breakfast done so on my way . All the shiny stuff here is come hahaha
