40K Battle Report II Chaos VS Dark Angels & Grey Knights

Supported by (Turn Off)

It's time for another battle report where the forces of Chaos take on the combined armies of the Dark Angels and the Grey Knights. Let's see where the story takes us this time...

40K Battle Report II Chaos VS Dark Angels & Grey Knights

"After months of chasing shadows the Dark Angels manage to pick up on rumours that  Cypher has been spotted on Planet Shroud. Quickly they dispatch a strike cruiser to seek out the fallen angel.

The Grey Knights have also picked up portents of warp energies building on the planet. As they move into the system they receive a message from the Dark Angels. Perhaps these two mysterious forces have a common goal...Perhaps.

On the planet surface Cypher waits to greet the foul warband of his once brother Marbas Handing over the murder sword to Marbas is the only way to free him from his shackles, and release his soul from daemonhood. As the Dark Angels approach, his plan nears completion.

The once Dark Angel Marbas longs to gift his master the Anathame - the only way he can release his bindings as a slave and grow more powerful.

In the Ruins of an ancient temple, from a time before old night, the stage is set. Can Cypher hold off the Imperials long enough to close the trap? Can the Dark Angels claim their prize of cypher and can the grey knights defeat the daemon prince and control the Anathame."

Lets get to the battlefield!

Excellent stuff, although i hope it ends on a cliff hanger, only seems right if you got the dangles in it 😉
My old (2nd ed angels of death) campaign list had the unfortunate name of the “dangle bangles” being a BA army with raven wing support…

I’m stunned that @warzan managed to resist the Sean Connery impression when talking about the Rock.

Really enjoyed that guys, thanks. I’ve not played 40K for years now but had all my games been that fun I doubt I would have stopped.

Kill Teams? When I played the Knights, they would have sent a company to thank the Angels for getting the Traitors and the relic and had a fleet ready to Exterminatus the Rock into a cinder if the Dark Ones quibbled, even a moment. The Grey Knights were always underpowered (or overpriced), imo. After all, GW sells miniatures, so the Quality of Quantity always wins. That’s why I left the game in my rearview mirror. I’d build a GK army again…for the hobby, not the game. And they’d be gray, not silver. Blood and Ash, man, blood and ash.

That was a lot of fun and a pleasure to play on such a beautiful table.

I think the key point was the plucky Heavy Flamer Terminator keeping Marbas locked in combat in turn 3 or the Daemon would likely have intercepted and dismembered the chaplain before he reached Cypher.

The Emperor willed it… or was it just as planned for Cypher?

couldn’t agree more Pete. Great game as always!

Excellant!! M’Lord Cypher has finally gained access to “The Rock”. Now maybe he can return “The Sword”!!

Question, why did you not take the 1-3 “free” units of chosen that Cypher is allowed as Fallen bodyguards??

just model limitations more than anything. We have plans to drum up some fallen themed chosen very soon!

Love the battle report guys! Love how enthusiastic you are in game. No bad dice or lucky dice rolls can ruin the game. That is how a game is meant to be played 🙂

But story wise I think it all went as planned for Cypher. He is always 6 steps ahead!

So keep up the good work! You did a fine job ! Cant wait to see what happens next!
Oh and Warzan@ you need to laser power you dice up 😉

The collated videos at the top are out of order, which made the narrative a bit harder to watch. Still a good report yet again.

And someone is rolling way too many 6’s. I suspect a dark pact.
