We've wandered around the Hobby & Painting Forum again this week to pick out some great looking projects from some of our community members. There's loads of fantastic work out there to take in and we're kicking things off with a beach. Sadly it doesn't look like somewhere you'd want to go on holiday...

Beach Landing By terraintutor

The terraintutor has created this fantastic looking beach here which is going to be one hell of a fantastic location to storm with your landing craft.

What I really like about this board is that it not only has the beach with a natural choke point for your defences but also those scree-like sections of the board where you could scramble up IF you were looking to get someone in to ambush behind the pillbox.

He has also looked towards working on the water now and it's great to see it expand beyond that basic deep blue.

You could of course use this for your World War II games but maybe this could also be the site of a a Sci-Fi battle too? My favourite bit about the beach is that little 'Durdle Door' style outcrop to the left hand side of the board. Excellent!

Kukulkani By sacramentofcarnage

Since it's just been Dark Age Week we thought we'd also show off this Kukulkani character from sacramentofcarnage who has done a great job on this jade coloured member of the Mayan inspired faction within their world.

I love the look of the Kukulkani with their background drawn from Mayan culture and mythology and then given a dose of Sci-Fi to enhance it beyond the norm. The painting here is brilliant with plenty of interesting shades going on.

X-Men By redben

Marvel is all the rage right now and its no surprise that people are picking up the X-Men and more from Knight Models. Here we have a look at redben's take on Cyclops, Colossus, Wolverine and Rogue.

redbenXmen

I think they're looking great and I tip my hat for the work on Cyclops and Wolverine in particular who I think are stand out models from this collection. He mentioned that he still has work to do on their bases so it will be fun to see what he does there.

Resistance Specialists & Terminator Walker by cruciumgiger

We now turn our attention to the work of cruciumgiger who has been toiling away painting up some of the models for his Terminator games. Here we have some Resistance Specialists.

...and he has also gone overboard and worked on this fantastic Tetrapod Walker which is looking ace. I don't think I'd want to come up against that in battle.

I think the work here is great and while the metallics look simple there's plenty of nuance in there so it doesn't all look like one flat colour. The Specialists look great too and really fit into the aesthetic of this doomed world.

Magmadroth by brydeemer

Last but not least this week we have this amazing looking Magmadroth and Fyreslayer rider from brydeemer.

brydeemerMagmadroth1

This is a fantastic looking creature when its got some paint down on it. I love what he's done with the red which gives it an organic look and the flames have been nicely done too - it's always hard to blend those colours together well.

The base really adds to the model too so it's good to see him going into that extra detail to add more to the miniature. I think the obsidian black 'throne' clashes nicely with the deep red of the Magmadroth too giving a neat seat for the Fyreslayer.

Which of these picks was your favourite?
