Tennis courts – for when the game designers consider the ‘tabletop’ part of tabletop war gaming to really be more of an abstract concept or a general motivational goal rather than an actual part of the gaming experience…
@saskapk, what paints do you use? I write occasional blog posts for painting various things. I’ve done 2 flesh schemes to date, black/african skin and ruddy skin and I’m fairly sure I could cobble together a caucasian skin tutorial in next to no time. But I use Citadel paints almost exclusively so you might have [...]

This looks very tactical and with great depth to it (apologies for the truly awful pun). I will definitely check this (don’t make any ‘it’s on my sonar’ joke’s- your better than that) as part of my first tentative forays into historical war gaming. If anyone wants to know who is to blame for my [...]
Thank you for all your kind replies gentlemen! @gilgamesh That’s myBolt Action Ostfront mix, all sorts of sand and gravel coloured in with some left over Mig pigments. Mainly Dark Mud and Russian Earth. I think the helmet could have been sculpted a little bigger or all in all a little more helmet like but I’m [...]

I’ve been spending the weekend reading and watching AoS info as if it was some sort of slow motion train wreck. My schadenfreude love of GW has been going overdrive. On consideration I think vagrantwhisper is correct about the removal of points. If GW had included points for everything then two things would have happened [...]
Thank you very much Deadave, really appreciated that, great pictures and info, will be heading down to the new Warhammer world fairly soon I hope. Thank you again for giving up some of your visit and sharing it with us.

In the current AoS parlance, ‘an extra attack’ usually means an extra attack for each weapon of whatever type in a unit, so an extra attack for each melee or ranged weapon a unit has, or an extra attack for each ‘sword of pointy stabbing’ or whatever the weapon happens to be called. So yes, [...]

I’ve ordered one and am looking forward to compare it to the Rubicon Hanomag.
The seated grenadiers are nice but they will look like Hobbits compared to the proper grenadiers on foot so I probably won’t use them.
The Panzergrenadier box seems excellent value and I will seriously consider a purchase.

Happy Birthday Beasts of War! Thinking it may come down to the base game for sigmar….then a scenario book/release…..but believe they are mentioning tournament rules later (from Forge World open day). But the first releases will be a “lets show you the world type thing” Tournament rules could then use units/points/wounds, etc. to make “balanced [...]
Some interesting ideas on this thread for trying to get a little balance into AoS. Personally, I agree with the various commenters who have suggested that more rules and structure is to come for the game in the future. The four pages of rules in the box set just has ‘quick start rules’ written all [...]

So much yes.
AoS smells like a pay to win system.
Itnis much easier to remove an army selection system from a game, to build one that works.
