Otherworld Add A Plethora Of Monsters To Their Dungeon
September 23, 2015 by brennon
Otherworld have opened the dungeon doors and unleashed a whole bunch of new monsters into the dank underground labyrinth they call their home. See what you think of this massive haul of monsters and miscreants...
Strange Beasts...
A whole range of stranger beasts have been added to the dungeon include two different types of Greater and Lesser Myconids. These mushroom people are some of the oddest things you'll run into in the Underdark and they don't die easily.
Taking things to an even odder level we have the Lemures who are fleshy masses that seek to drag their victims off into the darkness to absorb them and feast on their bones. They are very creepy looking I think you'll agree.
If you thought that your body was the only thing in harms way then watch out for the Intellect Brain which will be addling you from afar and making sure your brain leaks out of your ears. It also comes with a strange mole creature that looks just as weird.
As you can see this bunch of monsters appears to have come from a very Gygaxian corner of dungeon delving. I love these strange creatures that tend to play with your players minds a little and give them pause for thought.
Warriors & More
As well as those strange beasts there are more humanoid looking enemies to deal with in the dungeon. Sahuagin Warriors dwell by the dark lakes of the mountains and out in the depths just waiting to take foolish travellers into the deep...
Two different sets of Cultists (Set I & Set II) are also ready to begin worshipping those mighty Dragons that you've been hearing about. I think these are great and I love the spiked masks and curved, deadly daggers. All they need now is a worthy sacrifice
Last but not least for this selection we have a beast that would be a deadly foe on its on against a party. The Weretiger is most likely going to be a proud foe whose territory you have stepped into, deep within the jungles of some exotic land.
The model is fantastic and you could probably get away with using this for a Rakshasa as well, one of the demons that looks very tiger like and plays with the minds of their foes.
Dungeon Staples
Now we get onto some dungeon staples. It's all well and good eyeing up those seemingly normal statues but they will no doubt spring to life! See what you make of the Demon Statue Set, all of which are just begging to be used in a boss encounter.
Those are straight out of the Tomb Of Horrors! I think they look great and can be made to look effective with a good drybrush and some well done fire. Finally we also have the mighty Hydra who was teased a few weeks ago, now ready to become a real challenge for your heroes.
Phew, that's a lot of monsters. I think that you'll agree they really pushed the boat out this time and delivered some creatures you wouldn't normally expect to find in a dungeon very regularly!
What do you think?

That is interesting selection of monsters. Some of those are rather weird while others are more typical monsters.
I remember some of these monsters from D&D monster compendium… I could definitely use them in my games of Myth! Writing a stat card is easy and we could add even more flavour to our adventures.
Will be interesting to see what rules people come up with for these for Dungeon Saga 🙂
Some (all?) are directly from the AD&D monster manuals/fiend folio books from the 80’s. Really feeling my age looking at these lol.
Otherworld specializes in this. Been a fan for some time now. Their pig-faced orcs are right out of the books.
Nice to see more monster book goodies coming to life :-).
