Yes that's right On The Table is back. Trust us when we tell you it was worth the wait for this week's On the Table is full of enough wargaming news to impress even Darrell. With Warpath from Mantic, Gears of War from Fantasy Flight, along with a massive selection of all the recently released cool minis, this brand new On The Table is sure to leave you drooling for more. It may have been a while, but On the Table is definitely back!

Hurrah, It’s great to have On The Table returning to the channel. It was this very show that got me back in to wargamming 🙂
Sci-fi dwarf concepts? Could these be the Forgefathers? That’s more awesome than I could possibly have hoped.
“most wargamers don’t mind paying for quality” this is true. Then you mention finecast and the “but” rears its head, and the phrase becomes “most wargamers don’t mind paying for quality, but we know when we’re getting shafted to please your shareholders this quarter.”
The problem with finecast at the minute is it isnt quality.
I bought a Dante launch weekend to see what it was like,cost £10-50.
It has a significant loss of detail in the face due to air bubbles, something very strange in both the intake and exhaust of the jetpack (not that major for me, I will replace the entire thing with an astorath winged one so it at least looks like part of the same army) and in general simply doesnt come over as a quality product.
Being a 15 year+ old sculpt doesnt really help I guess.
I also ordered and received a Studio McVey ‘Kara’s Last Stand’, £12-99 , and its simply beautiful.
Everything about it shouts ‘special’ , which is what Finecast is claimed to be but currently isnt.
GW’s problem isnt necessarily the price of single minis, if they are nice people will pay, its that they simply are nowhere near the real quality end of the market their pricepoint suggests.
The cost issue of the games themselves to me is the cost of core units, its the overpriced boxes of plastic that makes both 40K and fantasy prohibitively expensive these days, not the cost of the heroes.
I received the Studio McVey Ar-Fiach and it is stunning quality.
A limited edition resin for 13 quid > 15 quid mass produced mini imho
Nice to see the “on the table” news cast back up and running this will be great for on the fly information should we all need it. Thanks once again BOW for making my wargaming life a little bit easier.

Truly Awesome Show! Here in argentina the news that Mantic gonna double the amount of mini for the same price was a boom! Many love it and will buy it for sure ( me too when i get well grow my Cryx army 🙂 ). Eat that GW!
Yeah the double thing was awesome, first thing when I thought when I read the email was:
GW – “Hey we switched from metal to plastic-resin which is cheaper, here’s a price increase”
Mantic “Hey we switched from metal to plastic-resin which is cheaper, here’s twice as many models for the same price”
I know which company I see being more successful in the future.

One suggestion, something that sort of bothered me: between shots you kept showing the ‘Join Up Today’ screen. Thats good every now and then, but not between EVERY SHOT. Id say show it near the beginning and near the end.
It just got old real fast.
Other than that, im tuning in ever weekend! On the table and turn 8 are the reasons to come here!
I agree, I’m all for subscribing and making sure you guys have the dosh to continue such great coverage of the hobby; but maybe mix it up with some other pics or info. LLAP

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for bringing On The table back. It was great exsept for the fact that every segment break had the same ad. It would have been nice to see diferent ads.
On the table is the reason i started watching BOW in the first place. It’s nice to have all the mini news wrapped up in video form, its easier to absorb than pages of text.
really nice guys 🙂 i was beggining to wonder whether we would see it again. my only slight niggle is the banner announcing “join us today” between every-single shot. Now and then its fine. But it got irritating really fast. Apart from that, really good stuff XD
totally agree, thanks guys but please reduce the join BOW bit to say, the beginning and the end as it got pretty annoying. Other than that though great job especially with providing the links for the stuff in it.
There will be more variety added as we go along, so don’t fret. But they take time to crest and there was no sense postponing the return any longer.
Simply a compromise 😉

The Join BoW signs break the flow a bit, but not that much, maybe some variety would help, even if only in the design.
Hell YES! WARPATH mini’s and rules a better 40K Hopefully Less expensive and more affordable. Mantic games and others create and inspire competition. And that’s good for us working stiffs!

At last! Ahhhhhhhh. This is what it’s all about. I remeber this time last year happening across one of you’re videos, happened to be something called “On the Table” and was blown away by production quality. This is where is all began. Welcome back.
Great. I’m not having too much time to follow all the rumours and news on the day to day basis, so a bi-weekly On The Table suits me fine. I’ll save the time I used to spend on browsing Warseer and tabletopgamingnews.com for all the stuff and maybe get to paint my army and finish converting my Zzap Gunz and play the actual game ;). Thumbs up BOW!

I just thought I would take a moment to say Thank you to the boys at BOW. It was by watching On the table that originally got me into wargaming, so I can’t describe how great it is to see it back again! without your devotion to the hobby I can honestly say I would probably missed out, on what is now one of my favorite pastimes.
Awesome guys, nice to have some good news round ups for people who missed articles as they went up. Excellent and keep up the good work.

I was wondering last week what happened to on the table, i thought maybe you guys had scrapped it but i couldn’t see any reason for doing that. Why did you stop it?
When will you be adding more video’s to the new YouTube page? Also will you be adding the older vids like the 3 colours up. I especially liked watching the Stompa one and really want to watch it again.

When Mantic release those ‘Space Dwarf’ mini’s for their new Warpath game (awesome name for your new system by the way!) i think they will find their sales go thru the roof and wont be able to make and ship them quick enough!
I am old enough, like many others, to remember Squats from 40k with great fondness and was beside myself with hobbyist grief when GW discontinued this range. I felt it was a MASSIVE mistake on their part. I never thought there was even a fantastic alternative to collect (Ollie’s armies stuff is great but not for me) so im very excited to see how Mantic’s upcoming efforts turn out. If they are amazing, and it looks like they will be from the concept art, i will be placing a large order for some immediately.
YAY Mantic! Quickly becoming the hobbyists company of choice.

Only nit-pick I have is number of ‘Join Now’ inserts. 😉 I would prefer one or two and have an extra second added to the miniature close ups.
