Print Your Mounted Heroes With Imagine 3D Miniatures Soon
May 5, 2015 by brennon
Imagine 3D Miniatures is looking to head to Kickstarter soon to raise money for their service which will provide 3D Mounted Heroes for your Fantasy wargaming. The campaign will launch later this month on May 20th so keep an eye out if this catches your eye...
Mounted Warriors
Imagine 3D Miniatures have already got a range of tools online for creating Orcs, Humans and Mounts but it's still in the Beta stages. The actual program will launch later this year. The Mounted Heroes campaign hopes to raise money that will aid in the development of the tools and raise the service to a new level.
Above you can see some of their 3D models as well as a painted example of a Dragon with a Human rider. The idea is that you'll be able to bring unique looking heroes to the tabletop to complement your larger armies from other gaming systems.
Orcs Vs Humans
As mentioned above there is already a way to make a range of different heroes and character models for both the Orcs and Humans and you can see them below...
While I think this campaign is a neat idea and it has been proven by other companies that this can be a viable option it looks like there could still be a way to go with the service itself here so you'll be waiting a little while to see a return on your investment.
However, as with plenty of other campaigns at the moment that doesn't seem to much of a problem for backers and the turn around time here isn't as long as some bigger games. It will be interesting to follow the campaign and see how the program develops as I'm still not won over by some of the 3D models right now.
Do you like the idea of getting your own custom mounted heroes?

I think there are a few other companies out there doing this right now, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t a good idea. It will all come down to cost. What will they charge for a single?
A bit like Hero Forge then? But for mounts. Sounds cool, as long as there is an option to just buy the rider in a mounted pose. I think that would be the biggest boon for them.
I’m assuming looking at the images that mounted hero refers to the company rather than the variety of miniatures.
See I should really start reading the articles rather than just look at the pretty pictures.
