Deep-Cut Studios Head Out Into The Badlands With New Mat
June 17, 2015 by brennon
Feeding on the frenzy that is Mad Max it looks like Deep-Cut Studios might have provided us with the perfect backdrop for a motorcade of vehicles getting ambushed by Raiders with their Badlands Gaming Mat...
It might look quite plain but when you get into the details you can see how much is actually detailed on these mats. We talk about a lot of these mats when they come out here on Beasts of War but that's because we think they produce some of the best out there for a variety of games.
Mats like these give you a perfect excuse to build some terrain that fits in with them and enables you to have quite the nice blending when you set your stuff down on it. For example building a dusty highway and then giving it some edging with sand and gravel to mix it into the look of the mat above.
I bet this could probably work for a distant planet like Mars too actually if you wanted to go heavy on the Sci-Fi and include some landing modules and such.
What do you think of it?

I already have one of the 3×3 versions of this mat and must say its really nice. Also got one of their swamp mats at the same time and work great for Malifaux. The artwork is top notch. Only downside is they are a lot thinner than expected although this has not been a problem at all and more down to my expectations than any product defect.
Have you guys received a physical version of them? As from the pics they don’t look like they’d grip the table as well as the neoprene “mouse mat” backed ones.
However, recently was told about these: http://www.gamemat.eu/
Those look to be just as good, with a smaller selection for now, but ave the rubberised backing.
hmmm. do they have ruined city too?
