WizKids Post Previews Of Upcoming New Miniatures Line
March 30, 2016 by stvitusdancern
Wizkids has been hinting at a new line of miniatures that they will be releasing that will come unpainted. What they are telling us is that there will over 150 unique miniatures offered.
The miniatures will be offered in a "Level Up" pack which includes the same miniature in two different poses along with upgraded armour and weapons or other items that the character would be using. This way if you use them in an RPG you can change out the miniature as the progress in levels of experience.
With all of the licenses that Wizkids hold you can bet your last dollar that they will offer miniatures to use in those worlds. Another nice thing about the miniatures is that they will come already primed in Vallejo primer! The monster packs are designed with army building in mind and will offer the same monster in three different poses, so you can add some variety to your army or adventures.
The third pack that will be offered is the scenery and item packs to help dress up your next adventure and give it a little more depth. All of this and they say that the miniatures will be very reasonably priced and will be available in quarter 4 of this year.
I am liking what I am seeing so far and will anxiously be waiting to see the final product.

Pre-primed instead of pre-painted does sound good considering that this is WK that we are talking about.
The renders look very promising, I just hope they are in a better quality plastic the old heroclix came with
My only concern would be if they make this a random pack, much like heroclix. I will be much more open to this line if what you get is clear to the buyer. I hate with a passion random packs.
If they’re pre-primed, does that mean the mold lines will be taken care of? Great model! 🙂
If I swap out the long sword and dagger combo for a pair of Bastard swords the second one would be perfect to represent one of my pathfinder characters…
Is there any word about scale?
Like others say, I hope this doesn’t do either random packs or look like heroclix. They have some figures that are just an amazing quality, but you never know with their renders how the final product will look. If they do this right, there’s no reason these wouldn’t be incredibly popular among the RPG community.
they look good.
The top picture looks a bit like Slaine
Randomess is even worse when both miniatures are a variation of same guy.

It doesn’t seem to be a blind buy. They seem to plan to sell it in a windowbox
The sculpt shown looks good and their proposed price point is amazing.
Their renders always look good, but their miniatures never do.
It sounds like a nice idea. I want more people to get into painting minis, and I want to be able to grab packs of monsters. But I’m not holding my breath for the quality of their minis to suddenly be reasonable.
