New Releases & A Krampus Special For Wild West Exodus & PAX Unplugged
November 27, 2018 by brennon
A whole range of new releases are coming your way for Wild West Exodus this month and also this weekend at PAX Unplugged. The first of these we're going to take a peek at is the miniature that was teased a little while back, Krampus!
This new version of Krampus is going to first be available this weekend at the event but will also pop up as part of the releases over Christmas for Wild West Exodus. As you can see he is a hulking creature with a brutal looking pistol and a murderous club which has probably taken out quite a few of his foes.
You should be set for a properly interesting scenario where Krampus is stealing away with some poor folk whilst you have to try and stop him. Focusing the scenario in around the idea of a monster hunt sounds like a neat way to change up how you play your games of Wild West Exodus.
Legendary Characters & Followers
One of the miniatures which is still up for pre-order right now is the Legendary Jedrick Powell & Blackhoof.
So, if you're looking for a way to trample your foes into the ground whilst also unloading shots from that insanely huge gun into them you've got some great stuff coming around the corner. Beyond him, many of the factions are also seeing releases to help supplement their ranks including Legendary Raven Spirit...
...and Legendary Wyatt Earp. I've always liked the Warrior Nation and I love the image of Legendary Raven Spirit with that phantasm being summoned up from the beyond to support its master.
Having played a lot of Red Dead Redemption II as well recently anything Wild West does catch my eye and Legendary Wyatt Earp is a great alternative version of the model. As you can see he is ready to lay down the law and is clearly offering up some poor outlaw a way out of his current predicament before he blows them away.
As well as these characters we also have some new units for you to consider too including the UR-31 GI Bots...
...and the Cor Caroli Luminant. This is where we're seeing more of that Steampunk/Sci-Fi feel being drawn into the games world and those robots, in particular, are looking amazing.
The masked faces of the Cor Caroli Luminant remind me of some of the strange creations from the Dishonored games, especially the second of them. They would be very fun to paint with their baroque designs and such, a real contrast to the harsh metals of the frontier.
Lastly, we have the Viridian Locusts/Chingoe for the aliens of this world.
I am still not entirely sold on the idea of them being added into the mix for Wild West Exodus but I think that's back when we were still thinking of Wild West Exodus as full-on steampunk game. It has a rather more unique twist to it which includes different themes and designs and the aliens do match with the way things have unfolded within the world.
Hang At The Cat House
As well as all of the miniatures you can also pick up another of their new terrain pieces, the Red Oak Cat House.
I love the touch of the ears at the top and the maw at the front. Whilst I imagine this place is one that revels in seduction and excess you could also see it being a rather dangerous place to settle down too.
What do you think of the new releases for Wild West Exodus coming your way?
Let us know below!
"I love the touch of the ears at the top and the maw at the front!"
As a German I find this fixation on Krampus peculiar, as it’s not even a thing here. I think Knecht Ruprecht was the better known dark companion of of Santa here, and even that has died off. Nice minis as usual though!
Btw, does anyone else get Saber Rider vibes from Jedrick Powell and Blackhoof here?
Yes, it’s true that the Germans have abandoned many of their old beliefs and traditions in the pursuit of modernity over the course of the past century or so.
But Krampus is alive and well today and living in Austria, Poland and Ukraine. There are huge Krampus festivals in Austria in which hundreds of people participate and it’s become a real tourist attraction. And Krampus is an indispensable part of St. Nicholas Day celebrations in Ukrainian communities around the world.
Merry Krampus everyone!
Fantastic figure’s especially the shaman an the robot cavalry.
Those are very nice.
Well I suppose I have to getthis year’s Christmas mini to go with last years… I hopev it is up for order soon
Can you field Krampus as part of your forces?
The Raven Spirit looks interesting
