Darrell is on a bit of a history trip these days and so for today's video he's picked up Michael Wittmann's Tiger Tank from Warlord Games.
I am defenetly getting one of these.
It was Villers Bocarge when he took out about 30 Tanks/Halftracks and carriers you now when an enemy tank is good when your general staff think a loss rate of 8 to 1 is ok although it was 12 to 1 on the russian front less hedgrows to hide in
actually it were 27 tanks + almost all other vehicles of the British brigade BUT he didnt killed them alone but they were killed under his command ( with the help of another tank company )
Picked one up when they first came out. Great kit!
i’ve been thinking about getting one of these for a while. now i think i def will. cheers
Darrell, love to see you doing historicals, the gun on the Tiger I where an 88mm so larger than most Allied gun on the main battle tanks
german tigers just sat and fired bah great tank from a violent era
007! The man!
I read a book about him when I was 13-14 years old, what a great story.
I like Warlord Games, and I still want to have that Russian river boat, but having thought about it for a while:
Tamiya has a bigger variety of models in 1/48. Their models are usually more detailed, lighter than the resin monoblocks, fit better to based 28mm miniatures – and (which for me is pretty important) they are cheaper!
What do you think?
The problem is that the scale models are not really build for tabletop gaming.
In general, they’re too flimsy to take the rough handling usually received during a game. The material is too thin and the details are too small.
To overcome this, one might strengthen the main hull of a tank with strips of plast-card. Gluing it to a base would also help increase the stability of the model…
