The compact Valentine was not fast, but it was well armoured and capable of long marches. It was so well-liked (perhaps not for John) that, when the Soviet Union eventually ceased production of light tanks, they continued to request shipments of Valentines to fill their need for light tanks.

Justin keeps going for it…. 2 PDR had no HE rounds, either when mounted on a tank or if employed as an ATG. 6 PDR had no HE rounds, either when mounted on a tank or if employed as an ATG. basically it all boiled down to doctrine, the British felt that an Anti-tank gun should do that job (and not be dual purpose). I’m pretty sure I’ve read that the 6pdr had HE ammo in North Africa at least
