Shieldwolf Unboxing – Shieldmaiden Infantry
April 24, 2018 by dignity
Today we are unboxing the Shieldmaiden Infantry & Ranger set from Shieldwolf Miniatures.
A core part of the Krumvaal Northern Alliance, this Shieldmaiden set contains twenty miniatures which can be interchanged between Infantry and Ranger units with amazing detail on the weapons and hair.
How would you compose your base Shieldmaiden set between infantry and rangers?
To ask the question I would make two groups of warrioresses, one of which would be “normal” infantry with more static, falling down hair and without cloaks, the second of which would be rangeresses with “physically challenging hair” and “moving forward” poses, and all of them wearing cloaks.
However, the arms seem not to fit nicely on the shoulders. Many of these ladies have a little gap between the shoulder and the upper arm. Do the parts just do not fit together properly or is this due to a hurried construction in order to get them on the battlefield?
Sorry, I meant, “To answer the question …” Oh language, you heartless female dog.
I’m curious about these. I think they’d make a great group for either Frostgrave or Ghost Archipelago. I can see that the bodies are not all the same, but the “both feet planted firmly” pose gives them a bit of a static feel. The blowing hair and capes brings a huge amount of movement back into them though.
Having just looked at their website, I can see now that they are designed to be ranked up in a tight formation for “large unit” wargames. That explains why the poses or so restricted.
I backed the Kickstarter and I’m very happy with the results. They also looks great painted …
