Unboxing: Flames of War Sherman Armoured Platoon
April 22, 2015 by dignity
Justin and John unbox a platoon of five British Armoured Sherman tanks for Flames of War which you can build into either a Sherman V or Firefly VC.
As well as the customisable tanks this set also includes a sprue of tank commanders and a British decal sheet which gives them a homegrown feel making this box a must have for John.
Sherman V or Firefly VC; which is your preference?
These for me are actually better than the Plastic Soldier Company equivalent because of the one piece tracks.
I agree, the PSC Shermans are also just a tad too small sitting next to the Battlefront ones
Justin, what was just paid off was the war debt from World War One.
It’s the lend-lease from the US during WW2 he’s talking about and indeed it only finished recently.
This is really weird timing. My box of Shermans arrived this morning. I was looking at them thinking that I’d need a little help to know how to put them together and then this pops up!
Thanks
Great episode guys. I never knew the Firefly had its bow machine gun removed to allow for extra main gun stowage. 😀 Definitely agree about the full plastic kits, both for Battlefront or PSC.
Great unboxing guys. I also liked hearing about the differences/mods between the Firefly and the Sherman V. I also like the fact that we are getting more plastic choices. As a result I seldom field a single CO in FoW anymore.
That’s a really nice looking kit for FoW. Wait I chose BOLT Action 😉
Just need a speaker and a gun enlarger …
“We play music verrrry . . . loud. It kind of . . . calms us down . . .”
A.K.A. the odd ball manoeuvre?
You know this. 😀
Good detail for the size.
nice, if the plastic is to thin for a magnet put that in the inner plastic part then you only need a small piece of metal cut of squares from a washer for the thin section to catch the magnet?
A very neat kit – I like the attention to detail they paid to the front hull – the Firefly ammo was bulkier so they needed more soace to carry a decent quantity.
