Unboxing: Relic Knights – Calico Kate & Skully
June 16, 2016 by johnlyons
Hey guys, this week we're hoping you like some bad ass girls, cos we got a doozy from Relic Knights.
Ninja Division have brought out the big guns to Calico Kate and her tiny companion Skully, the models are amazing and we're fighting over each other to paint them!
The models come with two Kate models, which model would you choose?

Cards that are flipped are shuffled back into the deck rather than placed into the discard pile. Kate’s esper expression does make her attacks a bit of crapshoot, but the positive for her controller is that the opponent has to decide on what defensive abilities to use before the flip is done, meaning they can’t be sure how much damage the attack is doing. It means they can either overcommit esper to a defence on a low damage attack, or get caught out by a high damage attack. Skully is one of the few cyphers who can damage enemy units.… Read more »
Cadre abilities are granted to every unit in the cadre except for the cypher. In Kate’s case, the damage on the ranged attack is nice, but the Push is the main benefit. Your entire cadre can reposition the board.
There was an alt non-cheescake version of One Shot and Malya that came with the KS versions of those models. Might be worth asking Ninja Division if they have one lying around.
As always, another brilliant video from John and Justin.
I like the look of “Relic Knights”, but for me that`s as far as it`s gone. It`s not that i don`t like them, i just have not felt the (what i call) the hobby tug. You never know, one day i`ll see a faction and feel the tug, but until then……………………….
Spotted a faction i think is right up John`s street, it`s the “Black Diamond” faction and the one thing it has that John like`s is “A TANK”.
After having played several games, the unpredictability of flip attacks became more appealing. This is a game where you can never miss or do less damage by your own misfortune. Enemies know for sure if they survive -unless you get a good flip.getting a bad flip that leaves the target with 4hp rather than 2 is not that big of a problem compared to the opportunity to get extra damage they could not plan for.
Well, here I was, thinking the glass cannon speed demon Cerci Speed Circuit was for me, but then there’s this. I’d build the knight with Kate riding in the saddle, and build the other model with a scenic base.
