Gerry takes out his magnifying glass to look at some of these beautiful 3D printed miniatures for fantasy wargames. These Wood Elves have an incredible amount of detail for their diminutive size.
Are you suddenly thinking about getting a new 10mm army put together?

There just lovely, gorgeous superb and other superlatives I dont know now to spell
How fragile are they?
about the same as a good resin, there is flex in them so not super brittle, stand up to handling and regular knocking around but if you put excessive pressure on them you’ll get breaks
Cheers
Strangely enough, I already own a fully painted 10mm Wood Elf army. These look like some great figures to add to that!
How much could you see by way of print lines?
I couldn’t see any and in the video they’re tight to the camera which has a better focus than my eyes these days at 15mm scale any that are there aren’t going to be perceptible in painting or when playing
I asked because i couldn’t see any on the video here but i can see them quite clearly on the photos on the Printing In Detail website. I wonder if they might have invested in a better 3D printer since they took those photos.
I’ve just seen that Printing in Detail have Shadow Elves freshly on their website…
They are stunning looking for 10mm I could see Warren doing a fantasy Waterloo Elves versus Vampires ???
Not that I need yet another 10mm force to add to the pile of unpainted and half painted armies, how easy would it be to separate out the minis to base the spearman, dryads and cav individually?
the majority of the individual figures have contact points on adjacent figures, so not that easy, unless you enjoy gently slicing things apart and resculpting in 10mm I’d probably give it a miss. If you’re not worried about detail loss mind you, you could clip them apart at speed and live with the losses, they’re only 10s after all when you’re sitting at the table you’ll not notice
I wonder if i fluttered my eyelashes at them, seeing its 3d printed whether they could be separated bespoke for me… damn it now i want an elf army
they print under license, the designer is Forest Dragon, you could contact him and see if he has the files separate. My guess is he sculpted individuals and then stuck them on a strip.
Although I have no idea how computers work so that may not be the case
