Unboxing – Heavy Dwarven Infantry | Oathmark
February 10, 2020 by avernos
Oathmark is fast approaching its April release and Gerry is unboxing Heavy Dwarven Infantry for the game.
The forces of Osprey and North Star Figures are combining to bring out a mass fantasy battle game. And today Gerry is looking at a box of Heavy Dwarven Infantry to run on the tabletop. The box allows for a total of 30 hairy warriors to run amok in your future battles.
What armies are you hoping to build for Oathmark when it releases?
the guy on the box look a bit like an ape from “Planet of the apes” XD
Not sure about buying Oathmark as I have plenty of skirmish games, but they could be cheap batch to add to Middle Earth Strategy Battle.
Be interested to see the other races.
Having built a box of these, Gerry is correct about everything. Love them!
Picked up a couple of boxes of these and regular infantry at the FLGS (70 miles away) to handle the elf infestation in my office. Now that some of the grandsons have discovered Kings of War going to leave them on 25mm bases because Gerry is right…shield wall much easier to rank up than fiddly Victrix on 20s. Pretty good looking fellows for stunties.
Elf infestation? – LOL. Where I am from it’s called good taste!
Well, there’s no accounting for taste…LOL back at you. I can tell you this…the 200 or so Chaos marauders and warriors that guard the office were somewhat upset by the whole incident. The gnoll army, however, that I built to oppose my grandsons’ obsession with Warlords of Erehwon elves, find them very tasty indeed!
Touché!
Absolutely cracking kit.I love these Oathmark stunties.
These Oathmark models will save the hobby from extinction. Their affordable price and high quality will bring in the newer, younger generation in and inject fresh blood into the hobby.
I hope so. I still have two hordes of ultramarines and tyrannids that just gather dust because I can’t seem to find time to travel 70 miles to alpha strike some poor guy (or get alpha struck) and I started the hobby because of my son, my friends, and WH fantasy. I even preordered the book from Osprey.
I have a similar problem. I can’t find anyone anymore who wants to play mass battle games. Partly due to the cost of entry (minis are expensive), partly due to the time investment it takes to paint the army, any partly because of all the good skirmish games out there. Hopefully, Kings of war and Oathmark will help turn the trend.
we are getting a visit from Joe and Pete soon, so expect more Oathmark in our future
I await with bated breath.
Nice looking dwarfs.
nice dwarfs the one with the shield & big hammer could be a champion to go with the commander and standard.
Oathmark definitely sounds interesting although my main interest in the Oathmark stuff is a way to get a decent amount of different races for D&D. These Dwarves definitely look like they fit the bill.
One thing I would like to see in some of these unboxing videos, if it’s possible, is a scale comparison. How do they look when stoid next to other dwarves, say Mantic, GW, LotR etc. That sort of information is really useful for those of us who like to mix and match different ranges.
My Saga: Age of Magic army is based around the Oathmark range. I’ve used the regular infantry as my warriors and I’ll use the heavy infantry as my hearthguard. They’re very nice figures.
I’m very pleased you did thisunboxing and I’ve found it very helpful. Looks like a brilliant product. More Oathmark content and unboxings please.
These are really beautiful models. I picked up a box and they joined my dwarven army of many manufactures. I found that the 25mm bases worked out nice as Jerry mentioned about ranking up. They give you enough in the box to make two units. I made one sword and board and one with two hand weapons as he showed.
