Justin and Ben take a close up look at the massive Privater Press Cygnar Stormwall Colossal, ready for your epic games of Warmachine in this unboxing!
That was bloody good !
Thanks guys !
Im only 1:11 in and my jaw is already on the floor. It screams airbrush ( no wonder they did an article on them in the last NQ) and I cant wait to paint it!
Mine is on pre-order 😀 and another won’t be far behind when I start my painting business 🙂
You state that it took you 2hrs to build. Did you need to pin any part/all of it? and what is it that you mean buy using green stuff to fix the components in place. I just use super glue. If your way improves the durability, I would appreciate some info on this. 🙂
I would expect this kit to need pinning, yes…
A little bit of green stuff in the joint helps to keep everything in place while the superglue fully cures, and it also makes for a more durable joint.
However, the most durable yet is still Araldite… Not very easy to use (it takes 24h to fully cure), but almost unbreakable.
Now its on. There is so much detail in that huge sculpt that it makes want to see Conquest.
i know i want one for my khador XD

I have just brought some Lock tight (although not used it yet) and I have bought some milliput in place of green stuff. I still have a bit knocking about I think, but would it be ok to use miliput? I think I will pin all the joints anyway just in case. Might slow the build down a bit but my head would be in my hands if ever anything fell of this badboy!! I will look into getting some Araldite (I thought it was a outdoors paint for metal, as I remember the adverts) Do I take it it… Read more »
Milliput is less elastic than green stuff… I find green stuff better, but Milliput is fine. You can get Araldite from hardware stores, DIY stores and even some drugstores… It’s a two part glue. I seldom use it but it’s quite good. You just need something to get your parts to be continually fitted together the way they’re supposed to be glued while the araldite dries, and that’s a while ! I’ve used pinning, rubber bands, as well as boxes with padding… And accidents still happen. I recommend you try araldite on some rubbish kit or something not too precious,… Read more »
Cheers buddy 🙂
Have you tried JB Weld – seems to be popular for FW Titans
Thanks matey, will look into it tomorrow after some sleep 🙂
Unless it states explicitly in the new book (you guys have it there, crack ‘er open and check) that WJ points can’t be used, I don’t see what not. It’s considered a ‘jack in nearly all respects.
LOOK AT THAT!!!
A double decker warjack wrecker
Can I get a witness 🙂
You guys did a great job on the unboxing and you made me green with envy getting that model and the book so early. I hope the book review comes very soon so we know how many models are in it.
thanks @dais was good to get in front of the camera again, now im just waiting on the Conquest to come in.
BoW Justin
If you haven’t already filmed the book review make sure to at least let us know how many entrees per faction there are. PP has been so tight-lipped about this release we only know the casters, colossals, eAlexia, and black dragon UA.
i’ll see when Ben is planning to send it out, and the book got filmed on the same day as the unboxing, im really glad eveyrone seem to be liking the vid. 🙂
BoW Justin
Lock and Load is next weekend so everything will be spoiled by Friday. Hopefully the video will be up before then.
do a cygnar batrep with this even though you don’t do batreps i think this is worthy
All the cool stuff comes in when I’m on holiday! 🙁
Well, not ALL the cool stuff…
lol and there was me thinking me and ben had done a good job 😛
Bow Justin
Great video, the model looks fantastic. Spill the book contents… pretty please?
Maybe it shows what a Khador fanboy I am that this is one of the things that stood out for me, but why do you have a Juggernaut’s axe on a Destroyer? Good stuff guys, I was afraid for a bit you wouldn’t show him put together!
the destroyer was built by Andy when he first started with us in the office, good spot have some free karma 🙂
BoW Justin
Nice presentation guys. You showed us the parts perfectly into the camera. No wobbly shaking thing. You should do more, or better all unboxing in the future.
I as a Khadorian wait for the Conquest. To smash the Stormwall! 🙂 *some crushing noise*
Nice video. Thanks guys.
Colossals to me seem obscenely overpriced though. You show it as the exact same size as the storm strider yet the price is $50 more for the colossal! Almost 60% more expensive for the same size miniature is just ridiculous.
I agree, the model is nice but hideously expensive.
That is true… It’s a lot more expensive, even when taking the extra parts into account. Are PP going the GW way ? Aye, alas.
The reason is probably that they know they’re not going to sell a lot… After all, how many do you need in a force ?
i don’t know Romain, i’d say it’s a production thing more than anything else the fact is thats its a hybrid kit with more parts than lets say a battle engine and each part moulded is a cost that PP have to cover, im not complaining id say there worth it.
BoW Justin
I do think that people are also overlooking that though it is as tall as the stormstrider, it seems to have much more solid mass and volume to it. Though the price does seem a little steep, I think the cygnar colossal might be suffering from the “all colossals are the same price” syndrome to match up with something like the khador conquest in price when it is clearly smaller.
Yes, you may be right… We’ll see. It’s a gorgeous kit anyway, and I will probably pay for it whatever the price !
Awesome video! I love that you did a size comparison with various models. You guys should do do more unboxing videos as well so there can be more coverage of various game systems.
Any ETA on the book review? I know the entire warmachine community is just dieing to know what is in Colossals as rumors are flying around that its just a Warcaster and Colossal for each faction. You could generate a ton of traffic if you just let slip the unit entries and names!
From what we’ve been told so far, yes, Warjack points can be used to purchase Colossals (and the same is likely to be true of Gargantuans/Warbeasts). See the Colossal card, where they are described as “Colossal Warjacks”.
I might have to push my wedding back a few weeks so I can get this and the others.
Oh, um honey if your on this, it was the cat. It jumped up onto the keyboard and typed all that by chance.
wow, that “mini” is cool,
I was not going to get one,
I think I will now.
just the level of detail is amazing, I would think it a blast to paint.
