John has got Brian from Anarchy Models with him to take a closer look at the airbrush you may have seen him use in recent videos such as weathering the Warhammer 40,000 Valkyrie, the MAX-4 from Sparmax.

The MAX-4 has a 0.4mm needle, is gravity fed and while it is dual-action it can be converted easily to single-action with the Single-action Air Valve included in the box.
What is your airbrush of choice?
Single action valve i guess as said use it like a spray can, probably of no use in mini painting but if you were say stenciling t shirts or just spaying varnish/lacquer/clear all day (know a few people that have a dedicated varnish brush for example) that would make sense, or if you are just using the brush to dust and aid drying time. I have an Iwata Neo siphon feed (.5mm nozzle) for large area/zenethial highlighting and an Iwata gravity feed (.35mm nozzle) for blending and detail work.
I have read good things about their airbrushed. Little Cars and Air-Craft.net stock them and recommend them. I have one of their compressors and it’s a great bit of kit.
its autumn! So the open valve works as a mini leaf blower???
I recently bought the sparmax starter set (compressor Arism with the 35 airbrush and accessories) and am really satisfied with it. It’s my first venture into aibrushing and has great value for money on my current skill level.
The BoW airbrush video’s were also quite helpful in realizing everything that goes with airbrushing, especially maintenance.
heard good things about both bits of kit, thinking about upgrading my homebrewed compressor with spar max’s addon receiver, although at the pressure’s we are talking about here empty pop bottles work just as well (currently use a 3l coke bottle as my tank, so may just add a second bottle to the system)
have you any recommended compressors to go with this airbrush as a starter?
looks like a nice little gun.
