Unboxing Marvel: Crisis Protocol – NYC Terrain Expansion
January 10, 2020 by avernos
Gerry is keen to get a look at the terrain pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol from Atomic Mass Games.
If ever there was a big box of sprues, this may be it. Gerry unleashes the mighty street furniture of New York upon his unboxing stand to give it a good look. Each piece in the kit is clean and assembles easily. There might be one or two problems with the street lights in terms of assembly but it's nothing that can't be overcome.
Which superhero would you most like to see have a car thrown in their direction?
With 40mm scale…. they would look bad with SW:Legion wouldn’t they?
When I was building the Crisis Protocol core box I found it was a bit of pain that the assembly guide didn’t have the part numbers on… not for the terrain as that’s pretty easy, but the heroes and villains themselves.
If you go to Atomic Mass website and click on ‘Assembly’ you can find the same assembly guide, but with the part numbers listed… it makes life easier…

have they fixed the assembly guide, the first one they published had the numbers incorrectly applied.
No idea… I only found it after I’d built everything 🙁
it was a friend in Australia pointed out that they’d had to upload them after forgetting to include them in the guides, and the numbers were wrong so he had to go without. That said I’ve just unboxed Wakanda and Vemon and none of them are labelled either so it must be a feature
Bit like saying ‘idiocy’ is a feature for a political leader…
I’m pretty sure that is the case ^^
Yeah, I had to throw Ultron out because I got glue all over his legs while trying to assemble them. I’ll have to look up the guides if I have any other problems, lol.
Seems pretty straightforward. Good note on the Lampposts though.
I think I’ll go watch that playthru now.
Is this just more of the terrain that comes in the starter set?
Yes and no.
In the starter you get: 2 lampposts, 2 traffic lights, 2 dumpsters, 2 cars and the Daily Planet (plus the bin).
I think the second dumpster has been replaced by a coffee house.
OK thanks, I guess I was hoping for some new terrain. Duplicating lights and dumpsters are OK but a few different looking cars and buildings would have been nicer. Still nice looking stuff. I know Gerry says the ones in the video are only a quick paint job but I think it’s super effective and in the comic book style.
Walking Dead All Out War does a scenery booster with two damaged cars and two small trucks.
Scale may be slightly different, buying my opinion they’ll work… you’ll be throwing them, not driving them.

no you get both dumpsters, it’s essentially the terrain in the starter set + a coffee shack
That look a great set of terrain to populate many game’s not just crisis.
Does anyone know how the scale of these compares to the Mantic Walking Dead cars and terrain? I am curious if you can use the two terrain lines in either game. I feel like the Mantic stuff is slightly smaller scale but without seeing them side by side its hard to tell.
I don’t know if they say but that looks like 4ground buildings in the game’s Gerry an Justin played so 28milish i would say?
