It's time for us to unbox the spectacular Knights of Infinity's PanOceania faction. These high sci-fi knights are some of the best looking miniatures that Infinity have come out with!
What do you think of these great looking additions to the PanO cause?
I would love more Infinity content so let’s see your game footage!
I’d love to see you two work your way through Operation Icestorm. Getting a new player perspective on the new rules would be fun.
lol great vid guys, very funny, keep up the good work 🙂
Oh ! John, did you get thinner ?
Extremely cool minis, by the way.
I’m glad that better painters than I are intimidated by Infinity minis. I’ve so far painted about 20 since I said I’d do my first 9 or so Haqqislam. I expect I’ll finish at least 2 big projects before I think of them again.
… one day …
Don’t be intimidated just get started. Like most of us I’m used to GW minis. My first response when I tried to tackle my Ghulam was something like: “OMG, how am I going to fix this mess.” Eventually they turned out quite nice though. A few quick tips. Start from a grey/white undercoat. Use very thin layers. If you must drybrush do it carefully. Most effects can be achieved with glazes and washes. And the wet brush is your friend. Just put on small dabs of paint with one brush. Then blend them with another brush that only contains a… Read more »
You know, better sculpts with lots of details are much easier to paint than poor, flat sculpts ! The details are enhanced with simple techniques, and you’re happier to paint them than when you’re slaving through plastic rank and file…
Yes, i would watch that show.
John and Justin make for a funny duo. I’d be really interested to see the painted Cordella.
More Infinity content is always welcome!
I really don’t like the old weapon design and this box is half new half old. I would have preferred all weapons to be of the new designs- especially after seeing the guns in Ice Storm. I get that there will always be some overlap but this box is a very recent release and I think it should have been all new designs. I think you can still get the two new ones is a blister so I guess it is OK. The spitfire is almost passable, but the old PanO combirifle is hideous.
Agreed but some models are sculpted many months in advance.
As Somegeezer says, I’m suprised, that even guys like you are “scared off” by the pictures of those painted minis. No matter how long I try, they will never look as good as that. And that kept me away from buying this stuff. Take GW, the minis look good in WD etc. but you have a fair chance of getting something quite close to what you see with a little bit of talent and/or practice.
I was talking to Angel himself this year, a really down to earth guy, he advises simply on practice few things are techniques that can be learned, but most is determination and practice.
I believe he is right, do not get intimidated.
That is deceptive… the paint-jobs on GW minis aren’t very good, at least on the box art and magazines. It’s easily achieved… but saying it looks “good” is a stretch. It looks decent, it looks fair for tabletop, it’s about average or just above. Furthermore, “simpler” miniatures are harder to paint. A simple wash or even a dry brush will enhance the detail of an Infinity miniature nicely, whereas the same wash will simple show the flaws of most Mantic or GW rank and file. A good sculpt will look good, no matter what you do to it, unless you… Read more »
Yeah would be good to see you guys learning the game as me a and a friend will be doing the same could pick up things we miss from your guys as you learn them.
I like that they still have the old weapon design. Thus I will be able to complete my MO in one style instead of a mishmash of old an new. So box is on order now.
And yeah, it would likely be fun to see your take on Infinity. 🙂 So by all means go ahead.
I to really like all the new Infinity releases. I was hoping to pick ‘Ice Storm’ up last weekend…but it appears to have been delayed by a couple of weeks!….mid Sept now!!!! As regards painting the miniatures….yeah, a bit intimidating to start with….but the figures are in a league of their own. I’ve got a couple of large factions painted now,(Pano and Combined army)….and……they do require more attention than your average minature…but on the other hand, it’s not like you are painting a 40K army….you only need a few miniatures to game with, so it’s worth spending a little time… Read more »
I’m not all that interested in PanO. Sure the minis look nice, but what made this show was the back and forth between the presenters. This was the most entertaining unboxing I’ve seen on the site.
So yes, please make the John and Justin Infinity Show a reality. It should be a lot of fun, even if it doesn’t make much sense.
I have to admit. I’d really, really like to see you make your way through the Icestorm box regardless of how painfull it turns out to be. lol
That operation justin and jon do icestorm vid would be awesome
Slightly off topic but is that a VK 36. 01h on your tshirt John?
Love those knights btw
Yes guys, record your foray into Operation Icestorm.
Yes. I’d also like to see you getting into the game. And if you paint the miniatures show them off. Perhaps with final verdict bei Romain, which turned out better?
Infinity hasn’t been able to catch my interest enough yet to buy or play it. I would love to see you two get the set and play through it. It might be just what I need to start playing it myself.
