Unboxing Hellboy: The Board Game
April 15, 2019 by dracs
Humble hobbit Sam and terrifying titan Gerry are in the studio today to unbox Hellboy: The Board Game from Mantic.
Hellboy gets the board game treatment and Mantic have brought out something that looks pretty spectacular. From the box art to the detail on the miniatures, a lot of love and attention has gone into this adaptation. Gerry takes us through how some of the components operate in relation to the rules of the game whilst Sam tries not to break everything in sight.
Who is your favourite member of the BPRD?

The old man…. where is Hellboys dad?
Trevor Bruttenholm was a Kickstarter exclusive character.
That’s a bummer :S
good news is I have it 😀
So you have to activate a fisting?
always better to activate a fisting than to passively receive a fisting I feel
I missed this Kickstarter, now I’m crying.
Mantic is still selling the KS Edition of the game:

Thanks, I’m on to it.
me too!
The artwork and design is gorgeous. Gerry’s insights and knowledge of the the game have really sold it to me.
Models look good, plenty of detail to allow a quick but effective paint job. Nice!
I’m planning to snag the Collectors Edition.
Thanks for the unboxing OTT!
Had to turn my monitor into vertical mode…
😀
wish I could of just got the minis of hime horned and not
do like the look of this
Missed the kickstarter, so please do some let’s play
THANKS
While not a Hellboy fan, I think the models look great! Mantic’s quality keeps getting better with each new product.
This is the best production I’ve seen from Mantic so far. I saw the Kickstarter box at Adepticon, but I’m waiting for my delivery to dig in. Sooo much more to paint.
good news everyone my copy is en route.
fair enough that’s only really good news for me, but still.
\o/
looks interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever read the comic books..or seen the movies..seems to be popular though
Hellboy didnt grab me, but I am intrigues by the idea of campaign based narrative play, especially as it soulds like it would work well solo.
