Infinity Unboxing: Clausewitz Uhlans & Acontecimento Tikbalangs
December 20, 2016 by dignity
Get stuck into some Infinity as we unbox Clausewitz Uhlans & Acontecimento Tikbalangs and take a look at some more stunning models from Corvus Belli.
Both armed with a heavy machine gun, and one of them sporting a deadly sword, this makes for an excellent duel pack. You'll be dominating the battlefield from range and up close.
Will you be adding them to your roster?
Having bought and put these 2 models together, I’m happy to confirm that these models are very easy to put together and seem pretty stable with just superglue keeping it all together. Horrible memories of putting together the old metal Eldar Wraithlords / Warwalkers re-surfaced when I saw all the bits, but these 2 TAGS are very well designed bits of kit. I’m mightily impressed with the pose of the Uhlan being so stable tbh considering it’s pose (even if you’re not a fan of the amount of stuff on the Uhlan base, you still can’t help be impressed how… Read more »
I can definitely say that CB has gotten much better about their models being easier to assemble. I just got done putting together a Gecko squadron box, and those were hard to assemble. Newer models go together much easier. The Taskmaster went together almost like it was Legos.
AMAZING. The bases are a great idea ! It’s like a proper diorama and everything. The engraved logos, the poses, the armors, the textures… Corvus Belli have outdone themselves.
Interesting naming of these things :
Uhlan ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uhlan ) Polish cavalry
Clausewitz ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_von_Clausewitz )
‘Aconticemento’ translates as ‘event’ according to Google translate
Tikbalang ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tikbalang ) = horse demon ???
Does this mean that a TAG is equal to cavalry for this faction?
Feuerbach … Feuer (= ‘Fire’) – Bach
I wonder if Corvus belli knew there was a philosopher named ‘Feuerbach’ ?
Aconticemento is a Pan Oceania held colony world and the forces from there are themed around jungle warfare.
Actually, yes, TAGs are considered “cavalry”… even in our own armies, horses have been replaced by fast/light intervention vehicles with the same purposes, but the term “cavalry” remains for some units.
They do look nice. As for pinning I find it easiest to put the pin in the smaller piece first, leg before torso or foot before base, not glue it but drill the hole and put a pin in. Then put a dab of paint or sharpie (felt tip) on the bigger piece. Then position the smaller on where you want it and press. It should leave a little scratch where the other pin place should go. I’ve done it on both metal and plastic, using paperclips for pins. Make sure the paint or inks is dry first though as… Read more »
uhlan is unbelievably good. I’ve said it before but the dynamism in the coil of the posture is phenomenal. it screams anime robot and is topped off with that amazing base. tikbalang is a fantastic model but I just keep drooling over that uhlan, I think its my favourite tag. your so right about the primer making all the difference. John, do it mate. give in, enter the sweet shop of infinity. pan o is a great choice. the neoterran capitaline sectorial army is anime to the core and very sleek and sexy. personally I think the Japanese sectorial, when… Read more »
You’re going to be waiting a while for the Japanese sectorial getting a resculpt, because Corvus Belli said in a recent seminar that it was unlikely to get one any time soon, because it is still selling well (the same reasoning was used with regards to the Military Order starter box).
Next year looks like its going to be updating the Bakunin stuff, in addition to Ariadna stuff (Rapide Merovingienne in particular).
think your right there @fleetey. can’t wait until that day arrives though. JSA was one of the better N2 human sphere starters but I would still love to see a resculpt
glad their keeping the military orders starter though, always liked the look of them.
A little hint and method I use for pinning: Dry fit the pieces until you are happy with the positioning. While holding the pieces in place use a fine tip sharpie, find 4 points to draw a line on the parts that crosses both pieces. Seperate the pieces and then connect the four lines on each side to make two crosses. The centres should be a fairly close match on either side.
I still really need to get into infinity and seeing these showcased makes me want them more.
they are great looking figures.
Sculpted logos?!!!
That is so cool and will give the finished mini such a look of quality.
I have no one really interested in playing the game with me but I still keep collecting for the fun of painting these beautiful models.
