Gates of Antares Unboxing: C3M4 Combat Drone
October 7, 2016 by dignity
We're back for another Unboxing of Gates of Antares and his time we're soaring the skies with the C3M4 Combat Drone from Warlord Games.
The M4 series Combat Drone is the standard template designed fighting drone in the Concord Combined Command. It has neither crew nor any capacity to carry them, forming a distinct machine shard together with its buddy drones.
Powerful kinetic shields protect the drone all round whilst generators adjust shield strength as required, making the drone capable of resisting most attacks.
How would you paint the C3M4 Drone?

I have indeed taken one of these to the table… Several in fact as part of a couple of mega games we had somewhere between 10 and 15 of these on the table, and something crazy like 60 order dice in total in the bag. Was a lot of fun with tanks hunting each other and blowing up all over the place. We found the tanks need support, but have the biggest guns going so are good at taking out other tanks or especially stuff like Ghar suits and and support drones.
this is SO going to be in my 15mm Gruntz force , thank you Warlord!
This is screaming to me to be converted into a dropship for the Combine
Great kit, it’s a pleasure to assemble it and very easy to swap weapons so you really have the Vehicle in all weapons combinations out of the box, without extra effort
When Warlord announced this, I was expecting a resin/metal combo, so all plastic was a pleasant surprise. I’ll definitely have one when the Freeborn army progresses a bit.
(Desert yellow with blue as a spot colour since you asked :))
looks good.
This is addition to my concord force which is a “definitely going to happen”. Damn it looks nice. Thanks again lads
I wish I liked this but it seems too much like a Tau offering. I wanted this game to really challenge me to get back into large scale gaming but it has ended up just being meh. I have found a love for skirmish games but I always hope that a fantastic new game with incredible minis would be powerful enough to bring me back. It would mean that a company would really be doing something new and amazing. It just doesn’t seem to be happening though.
Not seeing much Tau in there at all and Tau themselves aren’t really an iconic style, nor did they represent the invention of anything unique. GW took anime battlesuit stuff like Macross Destroids and Votoms and chunked them up. This is an unmanned sci-fi flying hovertank thing with rotors like a MCU Quinjet or that aircrafty thing from the Avatar movie,or the flying Hunter Killers from the movie The Terminator.(the thing Necrons, and their Chaos Android predecessors are descended from) Sorry you don’t like the drone, but trying to shoe-horn 40K in here as if if is were the obvious… Read more »
