Unboxing: Battle of Britain
September 11, 2018 by dignity
Today we're looking at PSC Games' remaster of Richard Borg's WWII board game Battle of Britain.
Flying over Britain and northern France players will take command of the British RAF or the German Luftwaffe as they recreate the epic air battles of 1940.
Have you tried this ace combat game?

I hate game boxes with so much empty space. Otherwise having played the game is solid.
That spitfire is disguised as a hurricane Justin ??
And the heinkel 111 is a JU88
Cut to @johnlyons face planting and storming around the office in a rage! ?????
Don’t worry, we’ve already let John off his painting chain so he can go hunt him down – it’s like Biggle’s hunting the Red Baron.
? I can just see John with a stick, whiteboard and aircraft silhouettes, repeatedly smacking the board whilst Justin is sat behind one of those old school tables looking all embarrassed.
The one on the base is a spitfire though. This unboxing really made my lunch break, would love to see a let’s play as it seems more strategic than blood red sky.
interesting, may be good to combine it with Blood Red Skies to create a campaign. I think they have opted for a different scale aircraft than BRS though, which is annoying…lol
When Justin was going through the cards decks I noticed there were several English and german planes.
Saw Spitfire and Hurricane Vs Me109, Stuka, He111 and Ju88 I think.
Do the miniatures match all the cards, or just the ones shown?
Not quite as enthusiastic about this even if I’d like to be as a BoB war-game was the first war-game I ever bought. It all comes across as very dated and the components are lacklustre for today. I get that PSC needs to diversify as supplying 15mm models that Battlefront doesn’t is a diminishing market, the rather random collection of board games coming out baffles me. Unless they are so cheap to develop this all must consume a lot of resources, time and energy for things that are nice, but hardly innovative or market leading. Why not focus on the… Read more »
This was a KS which I was unfortunately a backer, there were issues throughout and the Aircraft had to be remade ect Comms were non existent. Also my stands that came with the game don’t work and nearly all my planes fall off straight away or are not very secure so game is usless. Some other backers state there’s are ok and a couple of others have commented same problem. PSC suggested fix is to glue them which I can’t as I bought extra aircraft during KS and would need to swap out stands, storage is then also a problem. The… Read more »
