Unboxing: Infinity Anaconda Mercenary TAG Squad
March 10, 2015 by dignity
Justin and John drool over the Anaconda Mercenary TAG Squadron for Infinity from Corvus Belli, more specifically the Anaconda Operator...
This mercenary unit was originally a Nomad mechanised squadron before becoming independent. Overall it's an impressive looking duo with the Anaconda mech itself being reminiscent of something you may see in anime shows.
Which anime do you think inspired this mech?
I really love the design of the Anaconda. If I ever buy one, though, I will have to source a suitably sized Spitfire. It’s such a shame it only comes equipped with the sword.
One of those times I wish Corvus sold parts: one of Scarface’s Mk12’s would make a great stand in, or even a base on which to build a Spitfire….
I love mine it was a beautiful model to build, and looks great on the battlefield.

have i won something?^^
Internet cookies 😉
The cookies are a lie aren’t they?^^
For some reason I painted mine purple (it’s a merc!). Very solid model, loved it until I got the Iguana – then relegated a little. Prettier driver though…
On the women 🙂 Ghulam doctor. 🙂
Between Ghost in the Shell and Appleseed, I don’t think you can make mechs anymore that don’t rip off Masamune Shirow.
Yeah, but you take that idea towards the extreme, black/white prespective a little, and you start arguing that no one does anything original anymore. It’s all just alterations/modifications to an overarching concept that someone else came up with…
But yeah, in this case, you’re looking at the same artist for both references… Although I wouldn’t mind seeing some designs riffing off some Gunnm designs with some of the weirder tech designs.
Least you get an Evangelion/ Gundam vibe out of the Pan-O TAG’s. Dragoes especially has a VERY familiar silhouette 😉
In all faireness though, at he sort of level Corvus are aiming for with Infinity, Shirow’s work is the closest in scale with GITS Tacikomas and Appleseed’s Landmates. Votoms isn;t far off in scale, but any other designs (for example, the mechs from Full Metal Panic or Aldnoah Zero) are scaled much larger, taking the role of main battletanks rather than ultra-heavy infantry….
That’s a really nice mini i personally dont collect Infinity yet but might just pick it up. But i was wondering where is the gun from the picture ? Sound be optional.
the gun it’s carrying is it’s Spitfire. The pilot is carrying the version that is listed ine her equipment once the TAG is down, and I’ve always assumed it works like the Iguana HMG – the pilot pulls a human sized gun out of the TAG-sized one once it’s time to eject…
On a side note, I thought that box that sits on the shoulder armour was the Anaconda’s Panzerfaust system?
One of the best unboxing videos yet. Lol
Love this figure and I really have no idea why I don’t own it yet. Think I might have to go and remedy that right now.
Hint – don’t trim that bit off the top of her head until you’ve used it to help position the head while glueing (unless you have tiny fingers)!
I also post-pinned… Glued and then drilled through the joints and inserted long pins. Model now as strong and robust as the actual Tag would be! Not that I’ve dropped it (yet).
I got paranoid so all of my TAG’s to date are pinned to hell & back. Certainly makes it easier to test fit 😉
Looking forward to see you painting it John I have myself dog warriors to follow AZ book.
I really love this kit ! 🙂
This model has been on my wishlist since it was released.
