Battle Foam Unboxing: Ammo Box Bag
December 26, 2017 by johnlyons
Today John and Justin get their hands on the sturdy Ammo Box Bag from Battle Foam.
After all the care and attention you give to building and painting your miniatures the last thing you want is for them to get damaged in transit. Enter Battle Foam's Ammo Box Bag range.
These bags are fitted with rigid shells, water proof zipper lining, and room to store seven medium-sized battle foam trays. Taking lessons from previous bag designs these are Battle Foam's hardest wearing bags yet.

i have 4 of the GW hard plastic cases love them for transporting minis but limited to 28mm infantry.
I have two infinity battle foam bags and I love them
Its KR for me as its the first system I bought in to and its compatable with GW and the cases my FLGS has started making tsforgeeks.org.uk/). Battlefoam trays are a different shape and size so won’t be compatable.
I got a Feldherr backpack for 10 years now. and it’s perfect for my needs. Additionaly I use a GW hard plastic case which came with one od their paint sets.
With these two combined I never got trouble to get all the stuff needed to the places where they were needed.
Even BoW HQ was no problem to reach via plane with the backpack 😉
The best part about Battlefoam is the fact that you can get just the foam for your minis and just switch what is in side.
The marketplace for foam storage systems has certainly hotted up in the last few years with many system specific solutions on offer. However, nothing beats a good multi-purpose bag with flexibility!
I like the BF cases because the foam sits horizontal in the bag. I’ve found that with bags where the trays sit vertical heavier metal minis can cause the trays to sag and the minis can get messed up. For light plastic figures its not as big a deal.I have several of the original GW plastic cases and I can’t use them for travel because all the minis and up in a heap in the bottom of the case when you carry it around. I think their newer trays work better though. The other thing I like about BF is… Read more »
I use the sword bag from battle foam, Feldherr and also use the Sabol bag system for traveling with. I do have 3-4 older GW cases but only use those for storage.
I am seriously looking at this one though for my Star Wars Legion Army.
I can say nothing bad about Battlefoam as they are a quality system but I use Feldherr as their system is much more scalable to support my collection on the shelf and as a transport system from guildball up to 40K and Warpath with Wild West Exodus, Infinity, Gates of Antares and more in between. I am starting to work out custom pluck trays for my Blood and Plunder ships
I love my Infinity bag and banker’s box from BF. I can just switch out foam trays when I need to change which army I’m taking to the FLGS.
Even as a member of the demographic least likely to get hassled by airport security, I still wouldn’t dare trying to walk through an American airport with anything that proudly proclaimed “AMMO BOX” on the side. o_0
Looks a great solid systems for gamers.
I really like what I have seen by Battle Foam, when I was looking for a bag and an easy way to get hold of it I went to Amazon and they carried Feldherr. So with moving house and all I have a lot of Feldherr. I do think that with the ability to pack for an event that Battle Foam is better set up.
Great video guys 🙂
