Get Spiky and random, with Chaos Terminators

Here we go with some Chaos theory with John opening up the Chaos Terminators. And you should all be made aware that John has a thing for terminator armour so there plenty for him to say in this one!

personally I don’t like the fact that there are no terminator lightning claws in the box.
same, plus the arms have very limited poseability without conversion due to the trophy racks being in the way of the shoulder pads
Well, that’s an issue to be looked at, but i don’t think it’s specific to this model. There must be other un-customisable moels out there.
I agree I had to scavenge claws from my space marine playing buddies.
in this set the storm bolters are super ,much better than in the standart terminator set
What’s up with Johns voice?
There was probably a problem with the original audio and had to be rerecorded afterwards.
Actually, listening to more of it, I’d say that he had to use the camera’s built-in mic for whatever reason, instead of a separate, higher quality one.
2:25 -> 2:40 – Chaos, the equal opportunities employer.
I’ve never handled the kit itself, but from what I’ve seen the models are very nice indeed. The only problem, of course, is that like everything else they are no longer worth the price tag.
The one that is said to be a combi-melta is the flamer and vice-versa, lol 😀
Also, not sure why the sound is weird, but it seems that John hasn’t got a mic on and is using the ones from the cameras…
Is it just me or is the Termi-head with the two really long tusks somehow reminiscent of an elephant?
to expensive for what there is in the box :/
You guys should try and increase the sound levels from the full view cam. The close up cams sound is spot on, but the full view is way too low.
What they really need to do is to replace the audio from the full cam with the audio from the close cam.
As with the standard vanilla SM termies, these sets are showing thier age. They’re good stes, and better than the metal ones, but compare them to the space wolf terminators or even the space hulk plastics and they just look a bit weak now. they also lack any sign of being aligned to any god. They’d be ok for Khorne or maybe Tzeentch, but for Slaanesh or Nurgle they just don’t cut it anymore.
I like the set, the Chaos Terminators i think shows a little more edge than the standard ones, some things that i would like the GW to change Thou is: firs of all, give more weapon options, according to the rules and lore, the chaos terminators may be equiped with Lightning claws, a weapon option wich is not included in the box. and secondly ive would like to see more things that show that the Chaos Terminators once where regular spacemarines. althou nice set, amazingly fun to asemble and paint. and also, the feeling with those guys on the field… Read more »
when your choosing your next sets to reveiw, mabye go back, and make sure theres common representation for all’ve it, so generic stuff for each race ie-
dark eldar warriors,
guant nids
gaurdians
cadians or catachans (eventually both)
basic csm’s and sm’s
ect ect, but just to have basic sets for each race so any new guys to the hobb and just have something ot see before they jump in to a new army, good vid as always john 🙂
If you don’t like the models as CSM Terminators and you’ve got Green Stuff, bladed weapons and special weapons to spare, you could always use these as a starting point for units of Obliterators (and save quite a bit of money).
Need more Chain Fists!
theres audio issues with johns voice.
when he’s close its loud and gritty and when he’s far, he’s soft and almost quiet
id love more chainfists and lightning claws
oh… I get it … his JUMPER/HOODIE
the mic is near his neck, and when he leans forward it points the mic out, and when he sits back its gets covered up in his chest
I don’t mean to post again, but what I’d like to see different with the chaos marines is poses… have some different posed legs, some taking a slight step, some stepping sideways and just generally giving the character some action instead of being in te generic pose, they are chaos marines I don’t think they care about formations and order as much
I’m not a fan of the “if it’s Chaos it has to have spikes and horns” which was a bit of a pain with the old metal chaos terminators – couple of minutes with a knife and file (just miss the trophy mounts off) and you’re sorted with the plastics.
Something that lots of people are saying is that there is a lack of lightning claws: the power fists were designed to be able to be used as lightning claws if you wanted. That was the intention and if you find it difficult to see why, look at the “fingers” on them and you will notice that they are claws.
I really love chaos termie champions with mark of khorne and a set of lighting claws, gotta be one of the best CC units in the game. 5 power weapon attacks(6 on the charge) with rerolls to wound each is just nasty. It is however annoying how they do not put all the weapon options in the box or enough of them to kit out a whole squad with one configuration.
Not significantly better than the old metal ones, I would say. Biggest plus for plastics is its versatility resp. the amount of bits you get with each sprue (at least so they say) – don’t recognise this here. What a great addition would have been a dedicated sprue to individualise your terminators or even make them legion-specific would! Sadly, chance gone…
