its a great set with lots of details but as usual coming from GW its a little to expensive. costs 80€ over here in Germany 50-65 would be a decent price
nargh I am dumb -.- its only the manufactorum …so ignore my first post …please …
I got one and i thought there were too many details on the walls, i dont really like it. Overall though i think games workshops terrain is great
how about the next kit be The fortress of Redemtion, that be grade A awsome
did he really make a prostitute reference?
he is constantly living on the edge ^^ “Danger ” being his second name
that would make his initials DDD, thats kindof hilarious…
ive pretty much forsaken eveything from GW and refuse to buy from them anymore, but this is suprisingly affordable, costing only $25, which i find a good deal. so i may actually buy this. i looked and they have other ruins and building for the range of 20 to 30 US dollars.
its refreshing to see something affordable by them 🙂
Darrell at his best!
And I’m going to get myself a couple of these and use them es elements for cardboard buildings.
The buildings as they are meant to be put together have too much detail to the point they look like a Christmass Tree. However the details are great and will look best surrounded by flat walls.
Ladies of the night… LOL Nice. You’re awesome Darrell.
Ordinance barrages CAN get you if you’re under the floor of the level above, if the hole in the centre of the template is on your level with nothing above it I reckon you’re hit since it says in the rulebook to always assume the shot comes from the centre hole and the centre hole hits the first thing you can see through it. What’s more most barrage weapons can be fired directly anyway, though they must specifically be targeted at your level in that case, and if they scatter they’re still assumed to be at that level so if… Read more »
Mini Rulebook, page 85 ‘Barrage Weapons always strike the highest level that is under the hole in the centre of the marker. Only models on this level and under the template are actually hit.’ So models on a level below are not hit unless the shot actually scatters so that the highest level under the hole is the level they are stood on. Note, this only applies to barrages and not to normal ordnance weapons, so a vindicator could still elect which level to obliterate, what I’m curious about is whether you can elect to destroy a ruin with shooting… Read more »
Well iirc the rules for destroying buildings are optional and make you define what can and can’t be done with your opponent before the game starts, so there’s no real answer to that other than what you agree beforehand.
I have to agree: I get angry about the prices of GW’s figures, but I almost always seem to find their terrain prices reasonable, I’m sure why. I own a lot of their terrain, and actually bought one of these from my FLGS just a month ago.

This terrain piece, and all the other cityfight terrain that got released at the same time, are indeed quite good and, despite price hikes, are still not too damned expensive. They go together fairly well, are versatile and customizable, and aren’t necessarily hard to paint, though as always you can really go to town on them if you want. A piece of advice though, try to give these buildings a proper base since they stay together much better then. On another note though, this set and all the other ruined buildings that got released at the same time are a… Read more »
For what you get, that price is just INSANE! I would rather build it for 1/10th the price and enjoy doing that in the process… Also, the super-detailed design concept that GW seems to love doesn’t feel all that realistic or aesthetically pleasing to me… I prefer something a bit more like what I can relate to. I appreciate the detailed view though, nice vid!
gw do make some gr8 terrian
a nice bit of kit… i agree terrain is best deal from gw at the mo
Yeeeh this is going to make it on my my whishlist this year in form of the Imperial Sector set:-P
With luck there new terrain that’s due out later this year will be with in the current price range of there terrain
How many kits would you need to build one that’s not a ruin?
Depends how big you want it, but I’d say you’re looking at two kits minimum if you want a two level full building of any sort of useful size.
oh dear there’s some really gone off cheese in here…
I love terrains too
More terrain vids! I want Darrell to review every single thing that John has already reviewed because (with no offense to john) he didn’t really do much other than show them to the camera and state the obvious in a way too calm tone to keep attention to.
So yeah. Fortress of Redemption would be nice, but any other terrain, GW or otherwise, and you’ll make this camper a happy one!
