Khornes Puppy Dogs! The Flesh Hounds
August 20, 2010 by johnlyons
John has a look at the Flesh Hounds of Khorne. This is a metal box set that contains five Flesh Hounds with various different bits and bobs. These models are really nice once painted up well and look great amongst loads of bloodletters!

Personally these are my favorite rendition of the flesh hounds they sit in perfectly with my daemon army who are all dragon styled ( lizardmen bodies bloodletter arms and the big fantasy dragons in there as greater daemons / daemon princes with the kroxagors as the heralds ) these are also a great laugh to paint and karnak is another brilliant model 🙂
Nice vid John! I’m currently working on getting them and Karanak assembled! 😀 Legs are tricky to assemble, you do need some kind of greenstuff like material to fill up some holes/open lines. And the “spikes” on them sharp!! I’ve hurt my fingers several times while removing moldlines and pieces of metal. I have the body’s fixed, now i have to paint a little around the necks and the back of the heads before i can glue the heads to the body’s. I’ve used them to play already(in 1 battle), i really like their movement and their magic res(3) (as… Read more »
The models are, generally, quit enice. However, my pet hate about them is the fact that they have those rather random fins. I really dislike them and was glad to see that they DO come separately, until you showed the heads and two already have them on. If I get these guys, it’s going to be a case of clipping htem off and sculpting scales around the area.
Anyone else find them distinctly fishy?
These models are a nice nod to the Slave to Darkness Flesh Hounds.
All in all I think they are pretty cool looking and nicely posed. It’s a shame they aren’t in plastic, would have being great from a conversions point of view. I can see them having a lot of potential uses in other projects.
hi my name is michael and i would like 2 ask beast of war if i was looking a job to do with the hobby what would you say would b best
Why don’t you e-mail them, or PM them?
But I’d say go work for GW or Mantic
Nice models, but I honestly can’t understand why these aren’t in plastic. Personally I reckon that any models designed to be fielded in a unit should be in plastic. Metal is just too expensive for these “rank & file” models.
Agreed. Especially with the horde rule in 8th. When it comes to units, plastic please.
I agree that they should be plastic as well.. Tho they are very nice models, they are very heavy!
Personally I’ve never liked the Flesh Hounds with fins – they look too much like lizards for my taste. While the previous metals wern’t perfect (ridiculously large fangs made them look a little strange), they were closer to what I’d imagine a Flesh Hound to look like than these. Not to mention that the poses arn’t very dynamic, and that the back legs on some of them are sculpted in such a way that the Hounds have broken ankles (which hardly helps convey any feeling of a fast hunting hound!).
I like to think of their “ears” as love handels <3
Loving the unboxing videos as always Mr. Daemon.
Ohhh John I love how you word things.
“And Khorne is mean”
Master of understatement.
“I really like Lovecraft his stories a bit spooky”
“Twilights become a little popular recently”
But I really do love your videos!
I want to see more unboxings seeing whats on sprues live is so much different to the multiude of websites that show you bits from sprues.
Anyway love to see some more videos…
Ok that may have been a little strong for you.
“Some more videos maybe good”
I have been playing Daemons for several years and I have come to a conclusion that they are NOT that great. For the hobby, they’re OK. For the gaming (40K) they are very limited. Unless you have a lot of them AND they get the charge off in open terrain, they get killed very easily and often. I really hope they come out with something plastic soon, but with the release that just came out, I doubt it. If I were to use more, I would use the hounds from fantasy that are plastic, come 10 in a box and… Read more »
