Oh! The Horror!!! It’s Pink!!

John has a look at the Pink Horrors of Tzeentch to see how they look and what has become of them since turning to plastic. We think this is a model kit you may need the instructions for the first few you build as the sprue is a little daunting at first.

I’ll stick to my old metal ones then.
As a kit it does seem really nice, I agree that you can pretty much just start melting bits onto bodies after a point which is one nice thing about them being plastic. The problems though, the sculpts just seem too cartooney and comical for me. Of course this kit also isn’t helped by the previous metal models being pretty much the perfect representations of what Horrors should be like. The metals really got the feeling across of an ever changing mass of daemonic energy given forms while also looking pretty evil and dangerous at the same time. The plastics… Read more »
yeah the metal ones looked like Horros are supposed to,
I think the plastic ones look like humanoid squigs, not like a ever changing mass of chaos and randomness,
and the feathers look kinda out-of-place, would look better when they changed into bird parts like wings, beaks, talons or plumages and not like an accessory for a bracelet
Hmmm, I like the bodies, i think they are pretty cool. But the faces GW why, i can see that they are inspired by the Lost and the Damned horrors, but these just look plain silly.
Looks like more conversion work for my Daemon army then.
When I look at these all I can think of is Ghost Busters…
Hahaha, I’m never going to be able to look at them without seeing that now…all you need is to do not put the legs on, paint them green and stick them on a flying stand.
Instruction manual? That’s what the numbers on the sprue beside all the parts are for. 😛 The beak head, I like, to me it ties the horror in to the LoC model, without being too much the same. There’s defiantly one thing missing though, no blue horrors 🙁 I know they don’t have a proper place in the rules now, but even if they gave one model in the kit that was just two little ones on each other’s shoulders etc it would have been a nice nod back to the past rules when things were a wee bit Quirkier… Read more »
I want a Tzeench aligned army now.
These are just horrible, and not in the sense they’re meant to be. They look frankly comical, not remotely intimidating, with arms akimbo as if they are dancing. The faces *all* being wide open-mouthed just makes them look all the goofier.
The metal ones that came before actually looked like frightening messes of rapidly mutating and changing flesh. They looked *scary*, as Daemons are inherently meant to be. These new models, though, look like the villains from a childrens book.
Having the command parts is nice, though. Though I wouldn’t buy a box just for that.
;D hey again mate sorry about not replying to the other thread the reply button isnt there anymore so i cant sadly but i have no choice but to agree with you here i think these are without doubt the worst daemons out atm i honestly would picture these in an episode of casper the friendly ghost the old metal flamers where amazing aswell with all the warping mouths and fangs :-/ they truly felt daemonic
The bodies and arms, weapons, icons etc. look great but I’m not entirely sure on the heads. And hey, I have a lot of the old “cartoony” Horrors so it’s not as much that they’re cartoony. There’s just something off with them. Wish the head would have look different but oh well. Will probably buy just one kit. Not because I need them… I have over 70 Horrors from all previous editions anyway. 😀
The old old metal horrors were rather cartoony and comical, but there was also something very sinister about then I always felt. Maybe it was just down to the hands the size of their torsos with claws the size of their feet…and that one who turned himself into a drum for the musican was pretty freaky.
you gotta admit it, you would crap yourself if you saw them running at you shame it would be laughing though haha 😀
I have already got my first 10, i have Built and painted 3 of them and im personnaly loving it. Just use some common sence and they’ll look great. if you dont like them just get the old command sprues and have those at the front, and just fill up the back ranks with these. 😉
I;d use a plastic kit over a metal model. Plastic is so much easier to use and GLUE.
I do NOT like these. I am an avid Tzeentch follower (in-game only, lol) and these have nothing Tzeentchy, Horrory or Daemonic about them. ALL of their faces are the same (there are onbe or two bird beak heads and one or two with horns, but the faces are the same), all of the poses are the same, they don’t look like they are shifting their mass about, it seems like they are going “oooooo” and should have sheets over their heads (probably scarier). I prefer the metal ones, but I still don;t feel that they captured the randomness of… Read more »
I think they’re overall a miss, but I do think they have potential. As base models for mutants? Heck yeah, I could see these guys in a lot of conversions. I’m impressed by how much antipathy these models have created … every little design decision seems to be rubbing folks in the wrong way. The whole multiple hand thing got me thinking: what about modelling them to be running on their hands? The tail that leads to the base could also do with a paw… I think in the end these models are just the start of how people will… Read more »
I don’t really like teh super pink horrors that are shown on the box. I like the sprues though. I’ll get myself a box of them, just to see how they turn out.
The previous ones looked better in my eyes.
I really need to try and catch one of them, these i think are really ugly.
To weird looking and almost scary.
I have read some good arguments for reasons why they look good OR bad, but my opinion of them is of a hobby point of view. 1) They no longer need to be converted to show the icon, musician or champion. 2) They are now larger. 3) Plastic 4) Double the models in the box. 5) Cost about the same amount as the metal ones. For most, those will be the defining reasons to buy these models, other than the metal ones going the way of the 3rd ED Daemonettes. As for all the feathers and beaky stuff, it’s a… Read more »
there… ok…. some of its nice i think yet the other peices on the kit put me off, if i could get a it of JUST half of the peices (the ones i thought were cool) i’d be happy, but the bird faces arn’t to my likeing, nor are the more still bodys, if you took out the birb beaks, and made all of them on tails and tenticals not “standing” i’d much like them atm i only like half the kit,
