Yep that's how John describes it! Anyway this is our look at Kairos Fateweaver, the Oracle of Tzeentch. An all metal model this dude is pretty impressive with some fantastic detail thats sure to get your painting caps on good and tight!

I for one, am OK that it is made of metal.
No issues with it being a metal model, some issues with it being a GW metal model as they aren’t the best quality ever but that’s a slightly different problem. While not really that different from the regular Lord of Change that is probably a good thing as the standard one is a very nice model. I can’t help but think that adding a second or new staff and an extra head into the basic Lord of Change box would have had the same result in the end but they are marketing this as Kairos so whole new model it… Read more »
Kairos is more withered and stunted than a regular LoC, he was thrown into an endless chasm pretty much just so he could tell tzeench what was down there, and the time spent clawing his way back has left him a bit worse for ware, though now he can see the past with one head(the skeleton/shrouded one I assume, and the future with the other. You could use him as a normal LoC in the same way you can use most other special characters as the bland version of whatever they’re based on, but I’d either use him as Kairos… Read more »
I’m a big fan of the Kairos model, and am glad to see that it’s in metal.
Although i hope that plastic greater daemons get done one day, as they are clearly stated as having varied forms in the fluff, which is a pain to convert in metal.
I like it being metal, gives it a nice feel, I’d love to see him painted and put together by john
the only down side is you can’t really pose it anything to special
looks awesome 😀
I find the pose a little too static for my tastes. There should be an element of moving/shifting on Tzeentch models.
I have to agree. Tzeench is all about manipulation and mind-messing. Although, it is a special character, so maybe it has an exception.
And it is THE best wizard in Fantasy.
no doubt there, as it is proven in this months issue of WD.
Could you do a painting video of this? it would be amazing to see this model painted 🙂
Same with Changeling please!
And a build guide for the Pink horrors, cuz i wanna see your mind explode 😛
I have no problem with this, or indeed any Greater Daemon model being metal – those are some models that should never be plastic-ified. As for this model, it’s not too bad. A little smaller than a standard Lord of Change, and not really different enough to warrant an entirely different kit, but it’s nice enough. What I would have liked to see is resculpts of all four Greater Daemons (they are in dire need of it – an extra head option in each box did not a renewed model make!) with some options, like the two heads for the… Read more »
I personally really like the model, even though the fish on the staff is a bit weird XD
Game wise though, this guy is invincible!! I had a game today and the fateweaver survived 2 shooting phases from (40K) 2 eldar armies and another 2 rounds in combat against Asurmen and 2 dire avenger Exarchs- not to mention that he let the pink horrors nearby him re roll failed invulnerable saves… 333points indeed!!!
I love the model, and if I weren’t going to get Bloodcrushers before anything else of the new Daemons stuff Kairos would be a perfect candidate to buy.
I don’t mind this is a metal model at all. Special Characters will probably only in very rare occasions become plastic, because they aren’t going to sell more than one to each person. Or something along the lines. As far as I can see in the video, it looks like it will be easily put together with those special junctions they’ve made with it. So I don’t think I’ll mind at all.
I think they should make special characters for each of the chaos gods them bundle their options into a plastic kit with a basic Greater Deamon and herald set sorta like the discontinued special high elf character whos special equipment was included in the High elf dragon box… and the box could be used like the Empire general and standard bearer set… If that makes sense…
lol try a balrog and witch king on nazgul metal -.- big metal=bad or atleast get the proportions right so the feet can support the body and arms.
I don’t have an issue with my models been metal, I have issues with models been plastic, but that’s another story.
As far as GW metals go they are atrocious, sub-par in quality and casting, with inadequate glue points, excessive flash and misalignments is parts that are straight and parallel.
These are not problems of metal models these are issues of GWs quality control and design and frankly I can understand how one may have a bad experience with metal models if all it has worked with is GW metal models.
The only real advantage I can thinkofwith this being in plastic is that it may have been easier to put to gether but I haven’t tried yet so I Don’t know.
Personally I think the greater demons do nedd up dating not so therein plastic although that would be good justto bring them in line with allthe new demons coming to me there starting look a bit old
Love this Fig, and looks far better designed for pinning together something that was not so easy on the normal Lord of Change.
I think we need a build and paint vid on this one John, please. It’s a pretty impressive bit o kit. Any chance. Taa
Special characters may as well be in metal: you only need one and they are supposed to be the same guy. No point in people having 12 different versions of the same guy (excepting the Changeling 😉 ). Plastic Greater Daemons could make sense, but ultimately is a luxury that I don’t care about not having. Moving on from that strange aside, I thinkt hat this is a really beautiful model. It’s largely helped by the paintjob on the GW website, a bit more realistic-style than usual and FAR more realistic-style than recent paintjobs (river trolls that are lime green… Read more »
John, would definitely like to see an assembly and painting video of this one! I like your tabletop quality but let’s see what you can throw at this one.
