Game Of Thrones LCG Unboxing: King Of The Isles Expansion
May 22, 2019 by deltagamegirl22
The Queens of Mereen bring us a new expansion for A Game Of Thrones: The Living Card Game from Fantasy Flight Games - King Of The Isles.
Focusing on House Greyjoy, ruthlessly ruling over the Iron Islands for 300 years, this set contains 156 additional cards, with the other houses of Westeros also represented.
Will you make Euron's enemies pay the Iron Price?

not in a hurry to play or own this game, pitty about the shows demise (re-screen?).
I didn’t know this was a thing, or forgot it was a thing maybe. How does it stack up to Arkham Horror?
They’re both really good games, but are completely different. Arkham Horror is a cooperative story-driven game, A Game of Thrones is a 2 player (usually, but has 3-6 player rules as well) competitive game with no narrative element.
YALCG (Yet another LCG)
I wonder when the system is saturated?
Another card game…. I wonder if the popularity of this game will wane now the TV show has finished.
While the game looks interesting, I’ve moved on from paper crack to plastic crack.
At some point I ought to finish my collection of these… All the talk about the TV Series being gone taking away from this game, though, is a little silly seeing as it it based on the books and not the series. She’s still called Asha Greyjoy, not Yara Greyjoy in this, if I recall.
@warhammergrimace: A Game of Thrones: the Card Game has been around since 2002, predating the show by some margin. Its based on the books, not the show, so I doubt the end of the show will have much impact on the dedicated players. New players might not be as tempted to try it though, but as the cardpool expands, that was always going to be an issue. @sundancer: “LCG” refers to the collectible model used by FFG, not the system. Each LCG is a completely different game from any of the others, with dfferent rules, settings, and play styles, so… Read more »
Sometime sI’m tempted by these FFG LCGs but then I look at the cost of buying all the cycles, expansions and both copies of the starter sets you end up needing and its a little frightening.
I have the older version of this lcg.
Wonder if it is much different from the new one.
This looks cool though. Have to play it again.
