Flames Of War Unboxing: Soviet Tank Shock Group
December 18, 2018 by dignity
John and Gerry take a look at all the goodies in the Soviet Tank Shock Group bundle for Battlefront Miniatures' Flames of War.
In this Late War set you'll find seven plastic T-34 tanks, two plastic IS-2 tanks, two plastic ISU assault guns, four plastic ZIS guns, one Tank Commander sprue, four Gun Crew sprues, one Flames Of War Mini rulebook, one printed Start Here guide, two Decal sheets and eleven Unit cards.
Gerry has worked out you could get up to 1200pts with this set making it a great base for your mechanised force.
Would you plump up the points for the higher calibre?
FIST!
And now to watch the video…
Edit: It’s an old video! @avernos still has hair!
Not that old the hair loss is exciting and new. ?
No, no, no! Let the hair grow wild and free! (until nature tells me otherwise)
“A bunker doesn’t move” – Tell that to a Leviathan driver (See “Warhammer 40.000 Epic”) *g*
I was right about the Zis as well. I shouldn’t doubt myself!

Great unboxing guys
a fabulous video guys BA10 or T60 scout force could be a useful addition.
I believe the long barrel gun on the ZIS sprue is the 57mm anti tank barrel ( ZIS 2 ) , it was replaced by the 76mm ( ZIS 3 ) which could fire both AP and HE . The IS 152 had about 2200 units built , IS 122 about 3200 built ( with either a A-19 or D-25 122mm gun ) , the SU 152 ( KV hull )was built in lower numbers , about 700 . And the IS 2 was built to the end of the war in both hull styles , the KV driver’s visor… Read more »

I feel the same way about German armour and early medieval armour
Yup the difference in the quality of the armour worn at say Crecy and the armour on the Panzer III is quite significant
french and english armour is always inferior to the german produced stuff to be fair 😉
should be called DEATH IN A BOX
nah! the panther was a faster cheaper option for a kv killer rather than the tiger. the t-34 76 was upgunned to an 85 as a response to the panther and 75mm panzer iv as the 47mm was already obsolete and the 76 was almost at that point so they had to up gun it again to be able to handle the vastly superior german vehicles
instead of plugs just amputate the soldier’s leg and use the removed base paint it green or brown and put some hobby foliage on it and you have a shrub, a grass patch or mud 🙂
the “waving” tank commander could be a fanatical german spy who picked the wrong time to salute the fuher
