Unboxing: Firefly Adventures – Brigands & Browncoats
August 14, 2018 by dignity
Justin and Ryan unbox one of Justin's picks from Gen Con 2017: Firefly Adventures - Brigands & Browncoats by Gale Force Nine.
In contrast to Gale Force nine's previous Firefly game, Adventures focuses more on individual missions instead of carrying cargo around space and avoiding the reavers. Inside the box, the guys discover an innovative packing setup which converts game components into dividers.
We also get a good look at the Big Money Expansion courtesy of Ryan's penchant for silliness.
Which Firefly character would you most like to see in their own spinoff prequel series?

Looks good playing more like the show is a good way to go I think could be fun going up against Niska as he is one of the kingpin’s of the system.
I pre ordered this game and got some bonus resin figures ( a hostage and a naked Mal , those of you who’ve watched the show will know what that’s all about ) as well there was some resin money crates and some bonus cards for one of the earlier card games utilizing the ship . I saw an update a couple of months ago ( on BOW ) that a Simon & River expansion pack was being released , that still hasn’t hit my LHS . Haven’t actually had a chance to play a game yet , I’m waiting… Read more »
In exactly the same situation. Pre ordered and then my hobby table got busy, I got distracted by other games even though I love Firefly and enthusiasm for this box hasn’t waned. If we get a let’s play I think that might be the catalyst to bring this to the top of the list and finally see it played at home.
looks very cool and interesting
I really like the look of this game, and i like how the storage boxes and main box are also the building
s. The mini
s look good and i like how you get two sets of the main characters, the bad guy minis look very nice and i do like the Cowboy
s (which i imagine will be used in other games). May look in to getting this, but for now i
ll settle with watching Fire Fly the series and film.I pre-ordered to, and have had the opportunity to actually play the game. It’s interesting as the ‘moments’ system keeps everyone on there toes, and the Casual/Heroic options can be a bit of a risk. Love it though.
The next two packs are the rest of the Crew (which I pre-ordered at UKGE), a set with Simon and River, and a set with Book and Inaria.
At Gencon, they had resin promos for all the characters, both normal and heroic. Including the characters in the next two expansions.
