I actually remember when this guy orginaly come out as metal miniature as part of 3th Armageddon war campaing.

Im not buying any finecast stuff, infact im not buying any more GW stuff. Im moving to flames of war or something that isnt a GW game, maybe clevage. To hell with GW with their misscasts and hairs. Its disgusting, over charging models which have bubbles on their noses and half their ammo belt missing. I dont want that. Goodbye GW, ill come back if you sort yourselves out,..IF

I’ve only got one of the new Finecast models – Commander Dante – and even though I’ve only had a chance to clean it up, I already thinks it’s superior to the old metal version (which I also have). It’s easier to clean up moldlines, and easier to glue together. Plus the detail just seems much sharper than the metal. Can’t comment on the painting as yet, but I’ve never liked painting the metal figs, so I would imagine that’ll be better too!

I paused the video a few times for camparison and I can see more detail on the Finecast miniature, although its not much to be honest. The mould lines aren’t really a problem either, just needs a bit of tidying up and when it comes to knocking a Finecast model off a table and doing the same with a metal I know the metal one would smash and the Finecast one would just bounce about the place in one piece. Had a chance to pop into GW a couple of days ago (I was gonna buy some spray – but at £9.50 a can I’m gonna try Halfords instead…) – and took the opportunity to check the Finecast stuff (not that there’s any Metal left on the shelves for comparison) and gotta say I’m deeply unimpressed (especially for the price). ^ not saying white metal was great, but as alluded to before, resin good for some stuff, metal for others. Is there a “holy grail” substance that can do both big and light, but durable and thin at the same time as keeping detail and being economic to manufacture?

is it just me or is the metal ones bosspole horns curved forward and the resin ones are straight out and a tiny bit above the skull is missing but did darrell just forget to glue it on
