Darrell takes a look at some more of the fantastic terrain from Gale Force Nine. These Elven Pillars & Ruins are a perfect set for any High Elf player looking to block line of sight to those nasty Skaven on the Isle of Blood.

They look nice, but I’d rather paint them myself. Painting for me is half the fun of the hobby.

$50 is approx £35 at a guess.
Not bad for what you get
I like very much the column not so much the crest emblem on top. Base looks okay.
Prefer these to the elf tower and a lot more than the Woeful Tree.
But as a scratchbuilder with a padlock on the wallet I had my beady eye on the styrofoam packing! lol
Darrell likes his grass and a nice pair!
But not necessarily in that order? lol
It looks pretty good… I’ve always been tempted to buy some battlefield in a box terrain from GF9. Just waiting on that piece for an army I play, I guess ;).
I was going to make a joke about an Elf’s pillar, then I decided that would just lower the tone.
I know this is not the place but when is the youtube stuff coming back or put on new vid web site
You’ll be able to find them here on this website, but it’ll take awhile to get them all back up again.

thank you Andy
I got them and the large tower. It’s a bit more expensive than the other battlefield in a box stuff, but they are very nice and STURDY and you get a good about of stuff for the price.
I definately think that this is a great niche in the market. There are obviously alot of players out there that would love to own some decent looking terrain without the hassel of painting it themsleves. So I can only commend GF9 for this stuff. However for me I have to say I am not particularly keen on the design. I think the fallen peices without the wings were my favourite. In addition to this I enjoy building my own terrain peices. But in terms of the concept and the pricing I dont think I could fault them. Show us… Read more »
Those crests on top of the pillars absolutely scream WoW Blood Elves to me. It’s a shame there’s no Warcraft fantasy war game.
Whether you like the design or not, it must be said that you always get a lot of bang for your buck with GF9… A quality product, sturdy, well casted and reasonably well painted, that you can repaint if need be or even integrate to a larger piece of terrain, should you so wish. These pillars are no exception !

Darrell just wants more GREEN CRYSTALS
Seems cool it just seems like maybe the same if you picked up some GW sets.
But personally I really like doing terrian it’s so quick and easy and you get much better result much more quickly than you do with any other models.
two boxes of them and you’ve got a theme going
Now this is how a ready-made terrain should look like. Not some unpainted bbq cups we were seeing in the previous video.
I see one downside to it: Darrell didn’t show us the grass he was getting with the box :-]
I think GF9 is going to be my new terrain place! Very nice stuff and very nice prices!
Pre-painted scenery is ideal for me. I enjoy painting miniatures, buildings not so much.
£35RRP is a bit of a jump fromthe cost of their gothic sets but presumably thats reflecting the extra painting effort.
Would like to see more like this. I can’t be the only one to struggle with scratch building properly ‘elven’ looking stuff.
i like those very nice
I love these things, yes painting is part of the fun but these just look so amazing
Being a high elf fantasy player, I happen to own this particular set, and it does look sweet on the table top. Although, I tend to utilize them as more of an accent set of pieces rather than main features in and of themselves. They also make fine objective markers as well. If you are doing a temple piece, a road, as darrell mentioned, or anything of the like they look great. The construction is sturdy and the paint jobs are decent for pre-fab pre-painted, which is important as we all know those areas can be hit or miss with… Read more »
I’ve just had a look round their site and have to say I’m impressed. Although I think it is always more fun to make and paint your own terrain I would consider buying their products. They look like a quick and reasonably priced alternative. Thanks guys 🙂
For those without any one of:
time, talent, inclination or imagination
These are excellent. Out of box straight to table with sturdy and high quality terrain. Paint jobs of range is good. Making your own will be better im sure but for a quick and time saving option these are highly recommended. I like that our club uses things like these combined with home made terrain to get a great looking table to compliment the painted armies our members play with.
