I am not huge fan of how Flayed Onces look.
you forgot to cut out the outtake in the beginning 😛
ah, already fixed 😉
I don’t rate the miniatures at all. They just always look too cluttered and awkward.
Wow, I’m totally unimpressed with these. Its not even the sculpt, its the horrible job they did with resin. There is an insane amount of flashing, clean lines were all catty-wompus, and the fill tracks tend to snap when you go to cut rather than clean cut, and there’s a million of them. I love 40k, but geez, these are really pushing my buttons. The sculpt is great and I enjoyed the thorough video, thank you, Ive been really wanting to get a good look at these in particular.
I’m not sure these are the worst models GW have ever made, but they’re pretty damned ugly even at that. Value wise they’re a total rip-off, 5 finecast models in the box and you get 20 in a unit, for the price you can buy nearly two boxes of warriors, ad about an inch of green stuff, and a sheet of 0.5mm plasticard, 20 flayed ones, and no stupid piggyback ride cadaver. Draped skin is probably the easiest thing to make out of green stuff, and you can use it to cover up any weird looking joints between the warrior… Read more »
Good point. And grisly trophies could be added from many plastic undead sets to the conversions…
Flayed Ones are ‘hungry for meat’ eh? Suddenly the ‘impromptu alliance’ makes a lot more sense… 😉
And the slash fic gates open…
I saw my first finecast the other day, in the flesh as it were. It was isabella von carstene (something like that). Friend of mine pro paints, she had 4, all of the sculpts were awful and have to be sent back… really bad.
These ones, 4 in a box? They look ok I guess. not a massive fan though.
I think they’re good models in and of themselves, out of context. But as Necron Flayed Ones they leave a lot to be desired. Not too sure why the went for this look.
Angry to hear GW are still sending out misscasts ^ in reply to Coolhand.
Finecast is a fantastic material but GW really are just shooting themselves in the head yet again, not only upping the price, but not bothering about quality control as much as they should.
Urgh the new fluff. I prefered the idea of them being the necrontyr that did not want to be converted to machines and went insane in the process, and the flayer disease coming from that instead. It would of added a little tragedy to them. Models themsellves? They look awful. I liked the old ones better, those were more subtle and creepier – like lovecraft’s Ghouls meet Terminator. These are more cartoony and Over the top, which works for some things – but not for these. That said, they are the only necron models I don’t think hold up. Heres… Read more »
