What’s In The Box: Warmachine – CoC Grav Vector Plastic Kit!
July 22, 2014 by dignity
It's time for another taster from the newest Warmachine faction. Today we're breaking out the new Grav Vector plastic kit that contains the parts to make the Assimilator, Conservator and Modulator!
Which of these big bad bots will you be building for the Convergence of Cyriss?
I went to a shop this weekend to pick up a couple of these and not in stock! Thanks for the vid though Justin – kept my shiny syndrome nice and high for these awesome warjacks.
The lightning attack was used ferociously on the Iron Gauntlet final – did you catch any of it?
These are cool, i would want to make, all three versions
You know, this is really good… And quite big ! I was unconvinced by some of those vectors, but this one look fun… all three versions ! And you are right, Justin, this model has both Art Deco (1930’s) AND 1950’s accents. 3D sculpting suits them. I would play Cyriss, but it sounds like all units are very interdependent, and I think it’s both a blessing and a curse : if one of them gets offed, you’re worse off than other players, because you’re missing a “cog” in the machinery… But I’m not an expert, far from it. This model… Read more »
Wow this thingy looks great. Sad that I have dived into the game with Cygnar.
The guy is also one of the easiest to magnetize on the arms.
Floating Art-deco robots, WM/Hordes is finally doing something I like the look of….If only they did unamed characters/HQ’s..
Would the person that thumbed my post down care to explain what they didn’t like? Genuinely curious and open 🙂
I don’t know if said person will come back and read this… lol…
I don’t know. Maybe the guy just disagrees.
I didn’t thumb your post down, but I do think Cyriss isn’t one of the best or richest creations of Warmachine/Hordes (some of it is great and original, but a lot of it feels rushed into production, and there may be too much 3D sculpting there…) and I like the idea of named characters (even though I would like the option of using characters from the RPG as warcasters and units in the wargame).
But that’s entirely subjective, of course.
I know very little about the game in general, just what I’ve seen on here – various things have taken my interest here and there though, with Cyriss being the first thing to make me consider jumping in as I am a fan of Art deco aesthetics. I am wondering if there is a reason why there are no generic warcasters and why they are all named though, is it to do with the backround? Some of these games have good reasons for things like that (hence my curiousity!)
I see no reason why they wouln’t include generic characters, but the principle of the game is that named warcasters really are all different and give powers and advantages, and change your strategy. The way the game is designed NOW, there’s no room for a generic one, really : either he has no powers (and no one fields him), or he has different powers than the rest (and then he’s simply another named warcaster), or he has customizable powers… If his custom powers make him worse, no one fields him and he has no purpose. If his custom powers make… Read more »
The way Warmachine is designed, now, your caster gives you points and powers for your force… you don’t “buy” it. If there was a generic caster like the generic commanders of some other games, he’d be less powerful, and give you less points. IN a system where you buy your commander, it could simply be cheaper, but in Warmachine, since it gives you more or less points to buy and control your troops, there’s simply no room for the “lambda” warcaster.
