This time we're breaking out the Cryx Bane Riders for What's In The Box! These are some brutal heavy cavalry for the faction from the new Warmachine: Vengeance book.
These things look amazing and I imagine many of you will be facing these on the battlefield soon enough!
I love them, I painted mine in a ghostly scheme, well…just because.
The shoulder pads remind me of the old Chronopia figures — which I happen to love.
But how are you supposed to attach the horses to the bases? Pin through the hooves?
I really don’t care for the Warmachine rules, but some of the minis are excellent for generic fantasy gaming (yes, blasphemy, I should already be banned…)
Quite frankly I find the “ooh how cool stats they have” section of these unboxings a bit stupid. Who buys minis for the stats?
“Who buys minis for the stats?” is like saying who buys Magic Cards to win… 😛
Every gamer ends up buying a mini for the stats at some point, although generally (or is that hopefully) they like the mini as well.
I agree about Warmachine minis being good for “generic fantasy gaming” as I see a place for lots of mine in my Pathfinder campaign. 🙂
I don’t buy minis for the stats…
…but yes, I do realize I’m the odd one out here.
It’s actually pretty easy since I don’t even play any of the “brand name” games.
“Sooo…. what’s worse than the awesomesauce Bane Thralls?”
“Bane Thralls on horses…”
