Oh cool, these are the later versions of Katyushas with the enclosed tubes. The original BM-13s just launched the rockets externally off the bare rails.
Rather disappointing that that truck is attached to the base like that. Still, a cool miniature. And I see what they mean by the low point cost. Historically, these were always deployed in “Guards Mortar Regiments,” so you always encountered them in at least regiment-strength. 🙂
Epic Katyusha miniatures on the table, however, complete with smoke trails: check out Salute Coverage Part 2, 32:18 (Battle of Ponyri, Kursk Campaign, July 1943).

i love it when you have Alessio on, The dialog that goes on between you two is hilarious!
Man, the Autoblinda gets no respect. 🙁 For 1940-41, it was actually a damned good armored car. Compare to contemporaries like the German SdKfz 222, the Morris Car, the Rolls Royce armoured car, the BA-64 etc., most of which were only armed with medium machine guns. If this thing could recce ahead and get eyes on British trucks or a park of 18-pounders, 25 pounders, or the old 2-pound ATGs … Compared to later armored cars like the German Puma, British Humber, or American Greyhound, however, it starts to show its age.
Warren and Alessio make for interesting and amusing unboxings.
The Puma got a mention. Well here are Warlords current crop of metal and resin German armoured cars including the Puma – lots of interesting things there:

And the Puma will be one of the all-plastic kits coming out of the alliance between Italaeri and Warlord: (on the 7th page)

So the Nemo faction is “absolutely kraken,” eh? 😉
Nice. 🙂
I’m just happy to hear Warren pronounce “Autoblinda” correctly…. my ears are at peace… 🙂
I kinda like the new bases with holes. I just wish they came without the sloped sides. You can’t pick those up by the base so you pick up grabbing the figures which kills their ankles in the long run…
…and it’s the rear grill. Combat vehicles, even Italian ones, generally don’t want to put the fragile radiator where it’s most likely to get shot.
