Justin and John are back in the Unboxing chamber to look at the Hawker Hurricane from Warlord Games' newest aerial combat game, Blood Red Skies.

During the Battle of Britain, the RAF had more Hurricanes than Spitfires and the rugged Hurricanes shot down more enemy planes than their glamorous stable-mate.
As the battle intensified in Northern Europe, Hurricanes went on to see extensive action in Africa, the Pacific and Eastern fronts.

1936 the last biplane to enter RAF service was accepted, the Gloster Gladiator, both the original plans for the hurricane and spitfire were also entered against the same specification. As an aircraft the Hurricane was excellent however it quite quickly came to the end of its life span especially in North west Europe, as a gun platform it was excellent but it was better in the counter bomber role than a dogfight. Malta is a decent example of this in the fact that they were crying out for spitfires as the hurricanes were completely outmatched by the late model 109’s.… Read more »
Although i do prefer the Spitfire and the Mosquito, you have to respect the workhorse that was the Hurricane!

I got this box set for Christmas. Superb sculpts that were a pleasure to paint. An iconic British Aircraft that I’m looking forward to scrambling into my next game of BRS! More let’s plays of this one chaps, hanger doors shut by 4pm and cricket at Dispersal what-what??
My favorite plane of WWII. Not sure about the game though. Seen a few games and just can’t get my head around the mechanics.
