Blood Red Skies Unboxing: Axis
April 10, 2018 by dignity
Today we unbox two of the Axis forces from Blood Red Skies by Warlord Games. Blood Red Skies is a new World War II air combat game where players command a squadron of fighter aircraft.
We look at at the Messerschmitt BF109 E and the Mitsubishi A6-M5 Zero fighter planes from the German and Japanese forces, including their Ace pilots: Adolf Galland and Saburō Sakai. Including amazing stories about the daring of these ace pilots and how their exploits have been represented in the game system, this is one unboxing you don't want to miss!
In a dogfight, do you think the Messerschmitt or Zero would come out on top?

Looking forward to seeing the FW 190 and the F4U Corsair, two of my favourite planes of WW2.
Would love to see the Italian biplanes. Would make for a nice swarm :-p
I´d like to see, like @wesadie969 , the FW 190 D (FW means Focke Wulf), Me 262 Sturmvogel, Me 110 (not partcularly good, but much in use in the early war), Heinkel 111, to name but a few.
As a pilot ace I´d recommend Hans-Joachim Marseille, who fought in North Africa and took down a helluva lot of opponents. In addition, one could go for Rudel with his tank-busting Stuka G. He´d be perfect for the Russian theatre.
looking forward to seeing the Carrier at Salute on Saturday:-)
Looking so forward to this. I have been looking for a new air combat game to replace my Air Force from avalon hill :).
Do anyone know if the cards are unique for the squardron box so the cards in the ME109 box is not in the starter box?
FW190/ME262 verses the P51/P47 would make a interesting game.
