Unboxing: 4Ground’s The Blasted Tower

Today we check out one of the newest 4Ground creations, The Blasted Tower from the Ruins of Daldorr collection.
This set features some really cool structures and wooden planks to gain access to some otherwise tricky and daring areas of the ruins
Community member @Robert covered the blasted tower with snow effect to make an amazing platform for his games, you can check out more of his project and others here.
I think we could make some amazing sidescroller-style games with these; what do you think?

Have one, covered it in snow, for Frostgrave. It’s lovely stuff.
I would do same – snow – wopuld fit to malifaux, frostgrave, and my Khador forces.
I have been waiting to get a better look at this, as I have been trying to gauge the size of the completed model from limited pictures on line. Seeing it on here has given me a better idea as it is a much bigger kit than i thought.
For the side scroller type thing, I’d split the minis around a bit. One of the Norsgard ones would be good, but mix it up with a few types and think something more along the Golden Axe type thing. Though it could easily work to add height rules and just swipe the mechanics from the D&D Adventure Board Games (Castle Ravenloft, Wrath of Ashardalon, Legend of Drizzt, and Elemental Evil), you would already have the heroes and monsters from those sets that easily work together, and it includes things such as traps and other chaos. that is a nice big peace of scenery love the way it can be made to be anything for the game.
I would probably go with a simple D&D 4th ed. mechanic, and send LOTS of 1HP minion enemies in from one side. The hero(es) approach from the other side, and have to advance a predetermined number of squares to reach the boss encounter. The faster they advance, the less minions I bring on, because they WILL face X minions per turn until they advance far enough for the boss encounter.
