BoW Exclusive!!! Blackhide Wrastler | What’s In The Box
October 20, 2010 by lloyd
We interrupt your normal Warmachine viewing to bring you a peak at the biggest, nastiest beastie in the whole darned swamp!
Andy looks at a model, fresh from the forges of Privateer Press... the Blackhide Wrastler... a monstrous heavy warbeast for the new Blindwater Congregation faction for the Hordes game.
Stay tuned for some chat and an unboxing of the other blisters in this video... Bloody Barnabus and the Croak Hunter!
BoW Lloyd.
Nice model except for his hood… why would he wear such a thing? ;o)
Do you plan to do some battlereports for Warma/Hordes in the future? Would be nice to see!
What a cool looking minion. which factions can use the wrastler?
nice to see first hordes stuff now 😉
As to the factions that can use the Wrastler, it would appear to be minion alone. Andy gave us a pretty clear look at it’s card and there is nothing mentioned on there.
If any of the minion Warlocks (not lesser Warlocks as these are only allowed to use their specific beasts) will work for your faction, that would open things up. But, that would only really be of use if you are playing more than one Warlock…and you then loose out on the synergy that you can build when playing two Warlocks from the same faction.
@blitzr is right… a bit like the Merc Warjacks, you can’t take a Minion Warbeast in your faction unless you find a way to get a Minion Warlock in as well.
As there are no “Hordes ‘Jacks Marshals” that’s currently the only way to get this bad boy onto the field without running a pure Blindwater Congregation battlegroup.
Thx guys. Now i can see. 🙂
Actually…Rorsh(may only take Farrow Warbeasts) and Wrongeye(may take only Gatorman Warbeasts) CAN take these beasts. Dahlia and Brun cannot take extra beasts as they are written right now.
Now having said that…Rorsh and Wrongeye’s Fury stats are a little too low to really work well with extra warbeasts under their command.
Sorry….clarifying a bit more….
Rorsh can take the new Farrow beasts
Wrongeye can take the new Gatorman beasts…
So only Barnabas, Wrongeye, and soon Caliban can take the Wrastler
Check out battle college website dude, it’s a great soucre for everything warmachine/hordes
yhea I know but the wrestler is still a skelleton text no infos yet 😉
Great review, now I am even more excited to get this model!
It’s not often we get stuff early enough that we can be the first on Youtube to unbox/review something, but we fell lucky this time… all credit has to go to the boys (and girls) behind the scenes at Privateer for getting the box to us in record time. 🙂
As for our part… when the Minions gear fell through the door, it was all hands to the pumps to get the video out first… despite hard-drive meltdowns and a 14 hour day… we eventually got it out there!
We even missed staff game night… That’s how much we care! 😉
nice review – if only I could think of a good reason to use it in my lizardmen army…
not armoured/armed enough for a lord and too big for a krox…
Then start a Hordes army! 😉
In all seriousness tinracer, you really should try a game (of Warmachine or Hordes) or two out. The core rules are really clear and VERY well written, while allowing a lot more tactical options on the table. I won’t so brash as to say that the armies are perfectly balanced, but they are pretty damn close to it…..partly due to the fact that PP actually PLAY TEST their stuff, instead of writing a vehicle (ie:codex book) to drive sales of new models. Having said that, their are some more ‘gator’ styled warbeasts coming. From memory one that is a light… Read more »
“instead of writing a vehicle (ie:codex book) to drive sales of new models.”
sadly but true…..
I would love to see GW produce such stunning Kroxigors! The model is really impressive.
